The original Top Ten thread was created back in June 2013, it remained popular right up until the crash and we lost everything…

I still have all the results saved on word and I will incorporate them into our new Top Ten along the way.

I will suggest an artist where anyone can join in and vote for their favourite ten songs from that artist’s back catalogue. No one is expected to take part in every top ten, but as always, the more who join in the more diverse our results will be.

I will bring back the Top Ten Suggestions thread and list all the artists previously mentioned as well as setting up a sub-forum to keep the place tidy.

We will re-visit artists already covered as well as new artists who have been waiting in the wings.

Some of you may have your original favourite ten, but if you’re anything like me then it’s probably changed over the years as new songs come along, or old memories resurface.

So who do we open this one up with…?

It has to be someone special to mark the occasion

So good to see the return of one of my favourite threads!!

Oh yes - revisiting is going to be fun. And we won't know if our revisited top ten is different… unless you choose to tell us. ;)

I can't wait to see who it will be. :dance1:

:giddy:
I've been eager to get this up and running again and even though it's awful how we lost it, I'm very excited at revisiting many of the artists again.

unless you choose to tell us.

Sadly, I didn't save that info. I only saved the results of each top ten and that itself took up this much space...

That's just the top ten stuff, all the other nomination threads were saved desperately.

But memories fade and we may be surprised when I match up the two results.

I can't wait to see who it will be.

I've been toying with four artists and I've picked the winner. I'm just collecting some more info.

First up.....

Elvis Presley

Elvis Aaron Presley
(January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977) was an American rock musician and actor.

Regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century, he is often referred to as "the King of Rock and Roll", or simply, "the King".

Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, as a twinless twin—his brother was stillborn

His music career began there in 1954, when he recorded a song with producer Sam Phillips at Sun Records. Accompanied by guitarist Scotty Moore and bassist Bill Black, Presley was an early popularizer of rockabilly, an uptempo, backbeat-driven fusion of country music and rhythm and blues

Presley is one of the most celebrated and influential musicians of the 20th century. Commercially successful in many genres, including pop, blues and gospel, he is the best-selling solo artist in the history of recorded music, with estimated record sales of around 600 million units worldwide. He won three Grammys, also receiving the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award at age 36, and has been inducted into multiple music halls of fame.

Yay! I was just wondering when this was going to kick off and now it's finally back! :D

I agree that Elvis is a perfect place to start. :)

Now I need to think about which my favorite Elvis songs are...

1. Four Minute Warning (Mark Owen)
This was a no-brainer. My all-time favourite by the Take That "pup" (although Robbie was the youngest)

2. Advertising Space (Robbie Williams)
Because I find it such a gorgeous song.

3. Do What U Like
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpqAXZI0s0s
Welcome to the 90s, and the exploitation of the muscular pop-twinks.

4. Let Me Go (Gary Barlow)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENrj5u_lrWw
Sad and uplifting at the same time. How did he manage to do that?

5. Hey Boy
A modern Wham-esque party tune.

6. All I Want Is You
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rSI-_DIHK0
90s Euro-Latin pop, before Ricky Martin did it.

7. Shine
8. Patience
9. Feel
(Robbie Williams)

10. When We Were Young
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YDqe1eALwI
I'm not sure if this was written for the movie, but I prefer to think that they reminisce those very muscular pop-twinks exploitation days.
