He is a diabetic so would be in the category of having an underlying medical condition which could cause concern. He is also over 60. He will need to have his health monitored closely while he is in self isolation but he, like most people with the virus should make a full recovery.

Yes, it sounds as if they're going to be okay, which of course is great news. Someone joked online that once again, Hanks is isolated on an island with only Wilson to keep him company.:)

I think there are a lot of people out there who need to see someone famous fight off this virus and then recover with no ill effects. It would finally drive home the fact that this virus isn't some sort of death sentence for everyone coming near it. If "they" can get better, then maybe "we" can too. Yes, there is reason to be vigilant, but there are plenty of people worldwide who have suffered through the symptoms and recovered...but their recoveries are somehow lost in all the "what if/worst case scenario" reportage where a death gets covered and a recovery doesn't. Unfortunately in our celebrity-driven culture it takes a celebrity dealing with the situation to "put a face" on it.

Ugh. My immune system totally crashed since my last birthday. Colds I don't usually get, skin cancers, lipoma clusters, no energy despite diet and exercise. I tried intermittent fasting and had a good time with it, but I've fallen off it in the last few weeks.

Now, I've got two back injuries (one a sciatica thing because I tried to pick up something that was too heavy -- a workout weight I used to use routinely) and a recurrent injury (that hits me whenever I consume aspartame or during March pollen season). I had the first one for two weeks plus, and the second kicked in by the third week. And now I seem to have contracted something which makes me sweat and feel sore all over --- which could just be the fatigue from weathering all the back injuries, but feels like something more. Like the allergic reaction to pollen I have every year.

And there's no one around to hear me whimper, so complaint is useless.

So I'm a mess. My electrical system has also kept me really angsty for the last three weeks (what with the competing back injuries) so I finally figured out my Magnesium had to be low (despite taking one 200mg tablet daily to maintain a baseline but too low to cross the laxative threshold which tend to kick in with me after 3 or 4 pills in divided doses. But my magnesium was so low that I've taken 30 Magnesium pills over the last 36 hours with no laxative reaction at all!! And, boy, do I feel better than I have in weeks. I'm almost able to sleep for longer than 30 minutes at a time.

Last night, however, I dreamed I was "told" I have the coronavirus, but it was probably just nocturnal fiction.

If I get it, I hope I've already gotten it, because I seem to be okay. But if it gets me later, I'll be in serious trouble.

Not to make this all about me. Unless I die. Then it will be partly about me -- and @TJames03 will chime in to say that he's glad I'm dead.

Ummmm..... shouldn’t Hanks and his wife die if they have it? I mean, why are some people dropping dead of the virus less than a week after contracting it but others are having no probs after having it for a prolonged period of time?

The death rate seems to be anywhere from 2 to even 6%.

Depends on how hard it hits the lungs. No two people will react the exact same way to the same virus, just like no two people will react the same way to prostate cancer or the treatment options. And it's simply because we are not identical.

I'm sorry you are feeling poorly, Snarky.

Last night, however, I dreamed I was "told" I have the coronavirus, but it was probably just nocturnal fiction.

The other night I dreamed that Angela Channing (the character, not the SC member) was Queen Elizabeth and we were all at the FC mansion instead of Buckingham Palace. She was banishing Prince Harry and Megan from the valley and for some reason she announced I would now be taking his place, making Lance jealous. I was happy because I realized it would all be mine some day...but woke up sad because I wanted Lance to seduce me in the pool. I guess the moral of the story is not to put too much stock in dreams....and of course not to watch E! before going to bed. Or ever, really.

Then it will be partly about me -- and TJames03 will chime in to say that he's glad I'm dead.
And now I'm dying.....:floor:

I’ve had sciatica since early January. I usually walk somewhere between 10000-92000 steps in a day. I haven’t been able to reach 10000 on 21 days this year. Some day. I have to go out with back supports and knee supports. I had three days illness in January last year and that was it for the entire year. Some days I have been confined to a massage bed or seated in a massage chair with electrical foot and body stimulation pads attached to me. I’ve been consuming lots of berries and spicy anti-inflammatory foods (ginger, turmeric, blueberries etc.) and they have been helping. And the pain has been becoming less frequent. During that time, I actually managed to gain eight kilos, although I have lost one kilo in the last five days, now I am becoming active again. My dad was off work with it for several months when I was 13-14. Get well soon.

Not to make this all about me. Unless I die. Then it will be partly about me -- and @TJames03 will chime in to say that he's glad I'm dead.

But there would be the problem of confirmation. I wouldn’t know that you were dead unless you told me so. You could be merely sleeping or on holiday. Perhaps you could arrange a sign.

Someone with underlying causes passed away from the virus less than two miles from where I live. I’ve been ordering in shopping because of product unavailability.

We’ve been trying to persuade my mother not to go to her church because of her health problems, which put her at risk. The attendance there is regularly over three hundred. Apart from worrying, I recently loaned her a large cash sum, so I’m very very concerned. But she is adamant but not Adam Adamant.

I've thought about that: how to log in from The Great Beyond??
Well, Marty Hopkirk had that trouble too. He said that once he reported in, there was no coming back. But his dressing room was next to Linda Thorson’s. So when she finished playing Tara King on The Avengers, she gave him her kettle. Still, if the worst comes to the worst, think of the white suit and ghostly powers that aren’t Zach.
I wonder why they call it a terrible accident, when he was murdered for getting too close to solving the murder of his client in a divorce case.

How about a video will? "You whores, you bastards!"
Come to think, The Four Just Men were brought together by their late commanding officer, who waited until after his own death to ask them to fight for justice via a recording he made before passed away. Honor Blackman played the assistant to Dan Dailey’s character and she got to work with her future husband, Maurice Kaufmann, in an episode. I understand you’ll be watching her in future. I’ve met her.

we are not identical.
