Was it Chase, Peter or Richard?

I think Peter was the better businessman. Although I don't recall the values of their respective businesses every being clearly stated, I suspect Peter's international shipping company was worth more than Falcon Crest or the Globe. Also, the other 2 were too blinded by power and personal squabbles that they often made decisions for emotional reasons rather than business ones, sometimes to the detriment of their businesses.

In keeping with his Onassis-esque characterization, Peter was "the richest man in the world", so he's definitely numero uno when it comes to $$$$$$.
But the people who claim, or are credited, with being "the richest in the world" aren't usually the ones who are.

Like Aristotle Onassis, who was often cited as such but indeed wasn't.

I'd agree with @Willie Oleson that La Perrault, however discreetly, likely had the largest stash of shadowy cash on FALCON CREST.

Jacqueline was quite high brow and arty at times. IMHO she could have pulled the wool over Peter’s eyes, in a business deal. Despite being a wine bag about how much wealth he had Peter was very savvy. If a tally had been done to compare the business success of Jacqueline, Peter, Richard and Chase then I wouldn’t have been surprised if the much wed Perrault woman was on top.

Angela was seething in season 1 when Philip told her just how rich her rival had become, after 30 years of absence from the wine making valley.

Melissa and Lance’s wedding reception is underway. Many business people and neighbouring vintners are attending. Peter and Angela have a difference of opinion and then he raises his voice, (a scene from season 6, 1986 – ‘87):

Angela: “Do you realize how far your voice can carry?”

Peter: “Around the world Angela Channing-Stavros and don’t you forget it!”

The difference as I see it is that Jacqueline wasn't a worker but the 3 men were. Any wealth she obtained was mainly from her husbands, a number of them deceased. Her love of pampering was something else....oh aye, still Jacqueline possessed many of the attributes which makes a business person successful. Who could forget her turning around in the chair, puffing at a cigarette and being revealed as the cartel chief. You go glamourous ole bird!
