I don't think he suffered the most from the writing whereas Peter as the *cough-cough* main villain was downright unwatchable.
I am enjoying Barrowman in this more than I would have thought. Yes, he is playing it as a little bitch, but it's kind of fun. He's a bit Ben Carrington, a bit Adam Carrington. Although why he is this way is strange as he seems to have it all. I guess it all boils down to his adopted brother obviously being the favourite son of both parents. It's kind of Adam and Steven all over again. He's jealous, deep down of his fair haired, faired eyed non-biological brother.

As other people have said, the writing for her just doesn't make sense. Is she a gold-digger? If so, why did she do the whole wedding reveal and why is she pretty much trying to bang Chandler right away? Ultimately, there's no suspense in the writing for her and we don't root for her, or even against her. She's just kind of written all over the place as a character, when she's supposedly "the outsider" who's meant to be or glance into this world. I don't think we even got a proper explanation about she and Richard met.
Heather was written as vulgar and trash. And she surely was successful with that.

Yes, it's very noticeable at the dinner party when one of the daughters shows up wearing a halter crop top and trousers. If this was Dynasty or The Colbys all the ladies would be in gowns for a dinner party, even if it was at their own house.

I think it's also indicative of the styling back then or even now. Paris Hilton is trash, but she's filthy rich trash and still you'd see her fancy wear essentially being club wear (hell, it still is). The whole OTT Norman Miller dresses for dinner has been out of style since the 80s, even for the rich.

Yea, it's just of it's time, just as Dynasty was of it's time.

Poor Yasmine's sinus problems

For a show that I haven't seen since 2000-2001 (yikes that was long ago!), you triggered a vague memory. Something about Yasmine on this show progressively irked me at the time, but I have no recollection of what it was. I don't think it had anything to do with her voice. Maybe she drastically alters her appearance at some point? Or, like Teri Hatcher on LOIS & CLARK, ends up always looking tired? I dunno. But something about the actress on that show definitely annoyed me at the time.

She sounds like she has a blocked nose, it's very annoying. Like she has a cold or flu. Columbian flu I would say.

It was all over the press at the time that Bleeth had a cocaine addiction and you can tell - partly because of her perpetually stuffed nose, but also because her acting becomes more and more OTT and slurred as time goes on (as I said, I think the porny hollandaise sauce scene in around episode 8 was some sort of peak). She was also becoming scary skinny in the way when you start notice when people literally gets bobble-heads. I'm glad for her that she got out of the industry, because it clearly wasn't doing her any good.

Either way, she was put in rehab in December 2000, I guess shortly after the show was cancelled. I'm guessing that it was inevitable though and if they had ordered more episodes they probably would've had to figure out a way to write her out temporarily at least.

Yes that seems about right and jogs some memories. I don't recall the tabloid rumors of her at the time so I probably wasn't paying attention, but it does explain why her on screen presence was vexing me.

I have went back to watch a few more episodes. Titans won out over Melrose Place Season 6. I am really enjoying it, I keep thinking I am going to hate Yasmine as Heather and then I just don't. I really don't think she's that bad at all. I found it funny that when Richard was dying at hospital, that Peter actually said the classic soap hospital line. "They do know that my father built this hospital right? He's getting the best possible treatment?" Who says that? What moron would think that medical care and treatment would be determined by how rich a person was? Like a surgeon is going to think to himself midway through an operation, "Ah, f**k it, he's just a poor man, he can die" and give up.

Victoria is really great in it though. So different from Pam Ewing but she still has that bad ass attitude lying under her pretty facade. She's just really fun to watch. It's a shame she basically retired after this. I would have loved to have seen more of her. And Jack Wagner appearing in Melrose Place, Sunset Beach and Titans all around that same period. Wouldn't have hurt to be in Spelling's good books, you'd be set for life.

The promos for the next weeks episode are awful. "She killed her husband with sex!" Really? She did that? And then they say "But the higher Yasmine climbs the further she'll fall!" Why are they saying the actresses name and not he characters? It's stupid, like they are hating on their own star of the show.

Jenny the alcoholic is now Jenny the prescription pill popper and this is even more boring than her being an alcoholic. She's got enough drugs to fill a pharmacy and all she has is a sore knee. It's a really horrible plot. Laurie and Jenny's squabbles are boring as hell, and Jenny going on the lam
from a rehab centre is excruciating. I hate seeing a mediocre actor play drunk or off their head. Ethan's French tutor is essentially the same age as him and a car thief. YAWN.

Peter at the strip club is just a massive WTF? is this crap moment. I don't see what it has to do with anything?

Now that Heather is seeing this doctor, Chandler is all of a sudden overcome with the urge to be with her. How was that supressed while she was with his father? How does that work?
Speaking of his father, after Richard's death EVERYONE really gets over it and takes it quite well. They basically just all get on with their lives, there is no real grieving period. And for so many of this family to hate one another they all still stupidly live at Richard's house along with Heather. No sane person would do this, especially no sane person with millions in the bank. It does not make sense. They even are still doing this family dinner thing. Granted Gwen didn't turn up. I just assume that that was down to Victoria demanding the script be changed because it was a pile of shit. Killing off Richard wasn't the best move for this show I think. Jack Wagner doesn't feel right in that patriarch role. He seems too young and heart-throbby.

Poor Heather, she's suffered from that great soap opera affliction, Spelling's Staircase Syndrome. The baby is no more...

Yeah, Spelling was known for recycling actors on his various projects.
On Titans, the actors portraying Chandler, Jenny and Laurie had appeared on Beverly Hills, 90210; Richard had been on Melrose Place; and Scott was on Sunset Beach (as well as the 1st Samantha before she was replaced after the unaired pilot).
The actors portraying Dr. Visconti on Melrose Place, Beth on Pacific Palisades, Antonio on Sunset Beach, and Cynthia on Models Inc. had guest roles on Titans.

We should make a list with all actors that appeared in multiple Spelling shows :D That would be a long list, though.

OH MY GOOD GOD! What writer did this? Who is responsible for this horrible piece of TV in which Heather and Chandler bring a dog that was run over on the side of the road, to a vet. Then the vet tells them that the dog died, and they both break down crying. The vet tells them that she could tell the dog was well loved and cared for, not to blame themselves, accidents happen. Chandler says with a quivering lip, "we didn't even get a chance to know him" and then it's OBVIOUS they are not talking about a dog. They are using a dead dog as an analogy for their dead baby. Who did this? What person with questionable intelligence and zero taste? I can't even believe it's real.

And don't get me started on Peter, paying a woman to live in a house so he can pretend she's the one that got away in order to convince Samantha that he does have a heart and is really a good guy after all. This woman has a doll in a pram, pretending it's her baby!

Having suffered through thus far, I think the dog episode was the point where I originally decided I was no longer able for this sh*t and stopped trying to catch the show in the dead end, once a week morning slot that Sky One had relegated it to. It was years before I'd return and watch the show in full online.
