We finished the last two episodes last night. One of the best drama I've seen. Any drama that stays with me for days after, I find that I need to watch again just to get it out of my system, but I think I will wait before I do this one again.
To those who watched it all in one go, well done!! It whacked me out a few times over the past few nights. Such an emotional rush.

I forgive you. This time. The production team for Wizards vs Aliens came from The Sarah Jane Adventures, including the writers. As did the script idea for the series two story, The Thirteenth Floor. And a further idea for Luke was given to Benny in Wizards vs Aliens.

We ended up binge watching this too. Really well acted and utterly engaging with some very sad moments as well as some nice happy and funny scenes too

I really enjoyed this, slightly rushed, slightly predictable but still an enjoyable watch, I feel it was possibly too condensed and could have lasted a few more episodes. Great cast, brilliant writing and ultimately an eye-opening story that at the same time was so sad. Also I really enjoyed the accompanying music so much.

Thought I better check this out to see what all the fuss was about and it didn't disappoint. Really a tour de force from Russel T. Davies. Having lost friends to AIDS this is a subject close to my heart so it was a very emotional watch for me. I've always been haunted by the thought of the gay men who lived through those times who watched their dearest friends die, one by one. Especially at a time when families were much less lightly to understand or accept their son being gay, so for many gay men their friends WERE their family. That was something that the show did a great job of showing, that sense of community and friendship.
Like others have said it's a show that stays with you and I find myself still thinking about the characters today. Colin's demise was especially hard to watch. The actors all did a great job and I appreciated the much needed moments of joy and humour which offered some relief from the very hard hitting subject material. An excellent, powerful and important series with stories that need to be told and not forgotten.

Interesting to read that the actress who played Jill's mother is the real life Jill, a friend of Davies - he wrote the show based on her experiences. She even lived in the Pink Palace. Davies met the actor Dursley McLinden (the basis for the Ritchie character) through Jill Nalder, McLinden also starred in Doctor Who and died from AIDS in 1995.

Russell T Davies' It's a Sin has broken a big All 4 record.
The five-part drama, which was written by the former Doctor Who showrunner and follows a group of gay friends living in London amid the '80s AIDs epidemic, was released on the Channel 4 streaming service at the end of last month to rave reviews.
On Tuesday (February 2), Channel 4 revealed the series has already had 6.5 million views on All 4 — making it the biggest ever instant box set.
The phenomenal stats also make It's a Sin the streamer's third biggest series to date and most binged new series ever, while the first episode has become All 4's most popular drama launch on record.
Those are some pretty impressive stats.
Additionally, the accolades of It's a Sin contributed to All 4 achieving its biggest ever month of streaming in January 2021, with an increase of 91% more viewers than the same month last year.
During its first week on air, the show's hashtag #ItsASin was also seen by over 83m people – and consolidated viewing figures across the same time frame make it Channel 4's best drama launch for young viewers since the Sarah Lancashire drama Kiri in January 2018.
"The extraordinary performance of It's a Sin is a reminder that powerful drama with something important to say about the world can also be commercially successful," said All 4's Chief Content Officer, Ian Katz.
"It has also demonstrated how our strategy of box-setting shows on All 4 can bring a greater combined linear and digital audience to a show than a traditional release pattern."
The impressive viewing figures come as It's a Sin gears up for its US release on HBO Max.
If streaming the series simply isn’t enough, you can also buy it on Blu-Ray and DVD later this month.

OMG I wasn't going to watch this....sooooooooooooo glad I did. It's sublime. It's probably one of the best British dramas I've ever seen. The acting is fantastic, not a weak link at all, the story is heartbreaking and it is just gripping from start to finish in how it is delivered.
I'm on Episode 4 and I don't want it to be over.

Agree with the comments here the characters were all so well written i would have loved a few more episodes it was sublime well done to all involved.

The media have been quick to mention the "conspiracy theories" used at the start of the AIDS crisis, such as it being a hoax and a racket for drug companies resonating with Covid-19. What they don't mention are the establishment lies that come first, such as calling it the "gay plague" and GRID, as if it specifically targeted gay men, just as how they cast doubt on masking up last spring with Covid-19.

Apparently, it was supposed to be 8 episodes, but Channel 4 wanted it to be 5 episodes. I think 8 episodes would have been even better, getting the audience more emotionally attached to the characters and showing the AIDS suffering even more.

And the evil politicians who demonised gay men and let their homophobia prevent people from having access to information about AIDS that could have saved their lives. It was touched upon in the show when Jill was unable to find any information about AIDS in the library. Chief amongst evil politicians was this women, here at her party conference denouncing gay people.

This is sickening. I didn't know she had said this.
I had a teacher at school who would openly criticise homosexuality in front of us - we were only 17/18 years old. He would say what 'they do is disgusting'. Looking back on it now, it is totally shocking that he would have a platform to do this in a classroom. Speaking like this, may well have set someone in the class back, if they were having their own struggles with coming out or revealing that they were gay. I'm glad times have changed for the most part, but sad that it's only now in 2021 that Northern Ireland is moving with the times with regards to gay marriage, but we are still so far behind in terms of LGBTQ rights.

A few years ago I read an article about RTD getting the go ahead for a new drama about the AIDS crisis during the 80s, part of the article spoke about how the series was to expose Thatcher's role and her trying to block public warnings. We didn't see anything near what I recall reading which is disappointing. The series is brilliant on many levels but its a shame it didn't really cover the damage from Thatcher and the whole despicable Section 28 debacle.
