The cast of THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW lasted a long time, and so did the cast of MARY TYLER MOORE. But eventually time gets all of them (although Betty White and Van Dyke may never leave).
At least Asner reached their 50th anniversary --- Mary didn't quite make it.

Hopefully Betty is doing well, at least as much as someone pushing 100 can. She's been awfully quiet in the past year. I don't think she publicly commented on the passing of either Gavin or Ed. Not that I expect such public grieving from celebrities, but she did post on Twitter when Georgette Engel passed in 2019.

Oh, without a doubt. Plus all that processed crapola food that the post-WWII generations loved.
Ditto for Carroll and Jean over in AITF; irksome to realize they were only in the mid-40s and, again, looked like they were hovering around 60. The ladies had the added detriment of those roller set, bouffant hairstyles that made them all look 70.

It's inevitable, of course, that we'd lose them all. MTM debuted more than a half century ago and, except for Georgia, none of the main cast were spring chickens. Except for poor Ted, it's remarkable how long-lived the cast was; also rather odd that we would lose three of them in a single year.

It's like presidents -- nowadays they all live into their nineties (except evil LBJ and Nixon).
The DICK VAN DYKE SHOW group were similarly resilient.
Only John Amos and Lisa Gerritsen, who played recurring characters, are the surviving cast now.

Joyce B was cast to be "Carol Brady" on The Brady Bunch, but they recast with Florence Henderson at the last minute. I think she would have been a very different, but still very enjoyable Carol.
The entire run of The Mary Tyler Moore Show is now being aired on PlutoTV, the CBS-owned streaming service. Last night I watched an episode where Eric Braeden, famous as Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless played a restaurant critic hired at the TV station who rubbed everyone the wrong way.

Overbearing? Yes, but his MTM character was, above all else, a big ol' elitist snob. And for all his other faults, TGVN can't really be accused of snobbery. So it was kind of fun to see him as someone else. And Ted and Sue Ann put a pie in his face!
