That would line up with the S4 cliffhanger, which is scheduled to air one week before that on the CW (October 1st).

I'm so looking forward to watching it. Season 5 hits the CW in early 2022 apparently. I just wish Netflix would go back to showing it the next day or even a week later. Then at least we can all discuss it at the same time.

If they can get enough filmed before the holiday break, they might be able to get the episodes onto the CW earlier than they did this year. I read somewhere that they've returned to the studio and have been filming S5 for a week or two. Though I would love for them to stretch things out a bit more, the cynic in me thinks they will air S5 on the CW like they did this year--that is, as quickly as possible with no hiatuses or breaks so they can release the episodes to Netflix ASAP.

It's coming October 22nd
...and it's gone just as quick. That is, off my watch list as I've given it the thumbs down. I'm happy others find this reincarnation of Dynasty watchable and I did have high hopes this season might improve under new leadership but it's actually worse. Now before those on this platform cast me to hell for moving this trash into the trash bin this is just my own opinion.

Season 4 is hopeless in direction and is slapstick comedy. Too much of it is taken up by screen hog Fallon and the actress playing Alexis lacks substance and style. That bleach blonde, long eyelashes, complete with pander eyes and garish clothes is awful. Four episodes in and I couldn't understand why Sam was still there. Adam was brilliant when first introduced but he is on a mission to outdo Jim Carrey's facial expressions.

Lord of the manor Blake is a waste of space. His character lacks depth and I'd imagine if Alan Beam (Dallas) popped up in Atlanta he'd eat Blake for breakfast. Is Grant Show short? Sometimes he comes off that way when standing up against Liz Gillies. Please someone grab Tom Cruises' platforms and offer them to Grant. The Jeff/Alexis show at the manor is sitcom material.

The character I feel for is Liam. What a waste of talent having this guy on Dynasty. I look back now and I think he would have made a great fit as Christopher Ewing. I get that Covid-19 has affected many productions around the world and it's obvious when seen but when I was watching some of the earlier material I felt this sensation the actors were talking to tennis balls suspended on a string. It had a weird vibe as though the actors had sometimes did their scene and it was spliced in, like they often do with twin story lines.

I'm still annoyed that garbage like this exists when my favourite, Dallas is yanked off the air because of pitiful ratings yet even in its final season (3) would still have been outperforming new Dynasty. The only thing saving this is the Netflix deal and nothing else.

Rant over.

The last half of Season 4 gets better with the arrival of Amanda; but yes I fast forwarded through all the Michael and Sam scenes at La Mirage, as well as Jeff's space project. Dominique is a lot more likeable this season.

NO! Please no. The days where men on camera have to be taller than women to mirror clichéd views from the old studio days are over I think.

Some other countries: #3 in Austria, #4 in France, #5 in Belgium, Canada, Poland, South Africa, UK, and #6 in Germany.

SQUID GAME, YOU and MAID dominate the top 3 spots in most countries and they're all Netflix original series. I'm surprised that RIVERDALE and SHAMELESS are in the US's top 10.

Still at #6 worldwide - it's been stable on UK at #5 since release, up to #3 in France and Germany and up to #4 in Australia.

All I can say is that I hope this high amount of viewing means that the CW will decide to renew the series for S6, and Netflix will maintain their licensing agreement. Perhaps if there is an especially high amount of Netflix viewing, CBS Productions might be willing to expand their budget and allow them to splurge a bit more. S4 was almost entirely set-bound due to Covid and it would be nice to see them get outdoors and do remotes again, maybe even go on location for an episode like they did in Paris.

I think location shoots outside the US will be too risky for a modest budgeted TV production within the next two years. I don't think CBS Productions spends more money than needed. But I do think the deal with Netflix and the early Season 5 order helped to establish Amanda as a new character who is there to stay. And because of the Covid set-bound the storylines were more consistent than in prior seasons. Even Fallon's secretaries lasted longer than ever before.

I'd assume we'll get a word on if there's going to be a season 6 or not in January/early February at the latest. Bar season two (which was announced April 11th), the other seasons were announced on January 31st, January 7th and February 3rd. I'm a bit worried they might end it though - it's going to pass the 100 episode mark and we have no idea how long season 5 is; I'd assume if it's another full 22 episodes that might indicate that they're committed to it.

ETA: Apparently Robert C Riley (Culhane) confirmed they're filming another 22 - yay!!!!

Dynasmash now up to #5 on the WW chart :cool1 Pretty darn impressive considering it's yet to enter the top ten in the US and all the competition that's out right now.

Still at #5 on the worldwide chart, but catching up with Maid and Locke & Key, so should hopefully be able to move up to #3.
