Fallon's disappearance -- what do you think should've happened...?

As we all know, at the end of Season 4, Fallon (Pamela Sue Martin) appears to crash into a huge truck (three years before Pam Ewing does the same thing, just as they were both dunked in a lake in their respective programs' pilot episodes) and disappears only for her body to be found after an airplane crash with (speaking of pilots) Peewee Devilbus a few episodes later. Then, by the end of Season 5, they learn the body belonged to someone else and that Fallon (now, Emma Samms) is quite alive and has been wandering around with amnesia in anticipation of joining the spin-off series, THE COLBYS, where she will romance both Miles and Jeff Colby and marry several of them before or after regaining her memory.

Then, when THE COLBYS is cancelled, Fallon will be abducted in the desert by a U.F.O. and returned to Denver to live once again with her daddy, Blake.

But what if none of that ever happened? What if the writers placed Fallon on ice after PSM left (regardless of whether the spin-off occurred or not) and then Fallon emerged from her mysterious circumstances and returned to DYNASTY for Season 8...?

What should those circumstances be? What could have happened to have removed her from the world of the Carringtons and Colbys for three years??

In the scenario where she’s missing for a few years I’d have her show up midway through season 6 in 1986, where she reveals the dark and disturbing truth as to why fled on her wedding night in early 1984….,

She’d been getting flashbacks to a forgotten part of her childhood in which she remembered seeing Roger Grimes body dragged into the lake by her grandfather, who then told Fallon that she was sleep walking and he took her back to bed, and she forgot the whole thing until she recalled the events following her accident, she took the name Randall Adams because her best friend from childhood had that name and she also died mysteriously……

Fallon would have continued to have amnesia, just for a longer period of time. After escaping Denver, Joel and Rita meet Fallon and recognize her from the painting in the mansion. They befriend Fallon, but Joel falls in love with her and breaks up with Rita. Still suffering from amnesia, Fallon and Joel eventually return to Denver as a married couple.

I've long decided that Fallon was kidnapped by the Abominable Colorado Snow Monster and held in his Rocky Mountain lair for a couple of years.

When the avalanche cliffhanger (which was cancelled by Spelling, reportedly) occurs at the end of Season 7 and Amanda is buried in a massive drift of snow and never found (as is Caress and most of the Fallmonts) during Adam and Dana's wedding reception up at the SkyCrest Lodge just below the summit of Scorpio Peak (which Blake finally bought in mid-S6); Fallon is broken loose by the tremor and freed from her captivity.

Fallon then returns to life at the mansion, her child by the Snow Monster in tow (Lauren) and it all climaxes roughly two-thirds of the way thru Season 8 when the lonely and lascivious creature, desperate to reclaim his human bride, descends onto the Carrington estate and trips, falling into one of those lakes and tragically drowns, jarring loose Roger Grimes' frozen body which eventually floats to the top for Krystle -- and Jeff and Sammy Jo -- to find in the first episode of Season 9.

I mean .. it writes itself!

I'd like to think Fallon joined Green Peace and developed an environmental conscious to atone for her Daddy's capitalist exploiter of the planet.

They should have done the Rita storyline but with Fallon having a twin sister! She disappears but returns with the same face and body. Of course, PS wouldn´t have agreed to it, but I can dream (about twins), can´t I?

Oh, I dunno. Why can't everybody have a twin on DYNASTY -- in fact, perhaps the original grown Carrington children can be stalked by their replacements in a battle of the twins? And no one believes them because the Krystle/Rita scenario just completed, and because the recasts look nothing like the originals... So when Emma Samms attacks Fallon and Fallon fights her off, the explanation won't make any sense -- all of which works in Samms' legal favor .. at least until the UFO comes to pick one of them up, but isn't sure who's due an Andromeda ride.

Such mystery.

Yes, in all seriousness, after all the political fallout (which, of course, never occurred) in the wake of the massacre in Moldavia, and the socioeconomic reasons for it, I want Krystle and Steven to gently nudge Blake into divesting himself of his lucrative military hardware division -- a decision which draws considerable ridicule from Jason Colby and Adam in particular.

Blake could make self-redeeming critical comments about American foreign policy and no longer wanting profit from imperialism, and Adam could claim his "bisexual baby brother" and "saccharine stepmother" was turning his father "into a wuss". A mêlée involving both Carrington and Colby families ensues in the library.

But then, politics seemed off the table for TV at the time --- DYNASTY didn't even have any during its Season 8 gubernatorial campaign!

Does anyone remember how Fallon's death was handled by the producers towards the press back then? Was it claimed that no recast for Fallon was planned because they now had another daughter, Amanda? I wonder when Fallon would have been recast if The Colbys hadn't been created or if a different kind of spin-off for Dynasty had been developed? I could imagine that after the Amanda recast hadn't worked out, they would have brought Fallon back, perhaps alongside Matthew in the season 7 finale.

Given that Steven was resurrected after being presumed dead, I don’t think the viewers ever really bought that Fallon was dead.

With shows like this, you’d better have been run over by a car and placed into the ground for us to believe that you’re dead. And even then…

It's too bad they could not have linked Fallon's "condition" (headaches, etc.). to Krystle's similar headaches and odd behavior later in the series. Maybe too much lead in the lead crystal?

Oh, I've said that for centuries -- sometimes, it's useful to combine or link things, if only to avoid a series of cartels overtaking the business neighborhood in improbable secession (the 13, the 14, the 15, the Harrison 16 should all be revealed to be owned by Jacqueline Inc.).

There were lots of head injury-inspired aches on DYNASTY. Even when Caress had had too much champagne in Season 6, I thought, 'uh oh, there goes another one...!'

I say: in Phantom Season 10, have a series of fracking inspired mini-earthquakes strike a few miles west of Denver -- quakes caused by a shell company owned by ColbyCo (i.e., Cecil, then Alexis) who have the mineral rights under Blake's estate... Someone can observe that that's why everybody keeps falling over and knockin' their noggins, and why the cancelled Season 7 avalanche up on Scorpio Peak ruined Adam's and Dana's reception at SkyCrest (now owned by Blake) which, by eerie coincident, dislodged Fallon from the Abominable Snowman's lair and freed her after 3 years of captivity and really bad sex.

Especially when the quakes get really out of control by the last year, and the seismic disturbances begin upsetting the mansion's Mings (too much carnage even for the likes of Alexis).

Does it make sense? No, not entirely. But it would explain why neither Blake or Alexis could ever remember how many years they were married, and why no one notices the recasts.

The manor is redubbed "Concussion Abby" and then everybody feels better.

It would also be explained that Amanda wandered away unnoticed, clutching her head and complaining that she "didn't feel herself today". She calls Blake in the finale to say she's decided to settle down in the comparatively quiet town of Twin Peaks.
