Soap Opera Digest asked if Drew & Carly make a good match. Answer: 19% yes, 81% no. A few weeks ago it was asked if Cody & Britt make a good match. Answer: 73% yes, 27% no.

I voted like the majority in both polls. I wouldn't be surprised if in a few weeks Drew & Carly were crowned Worst New Soap Couple of 2022. It's just awful to watch them. So far, Franco has been Carly's worst love interest for me because that relationship didn't make sense in relation to Jason, but Drew is even worse.
Agree with not liking Drew/Crly
Not liking Cody/Britt - with KT leaving what is the plan?

I've already thought of Olivia, as well as Jennifer. Maybe the reason we don't see the boss is that she's in jail right now and Mason is doing her duties.

My wish is that Austin's boss turns out to be Esme's mother. If it was Olivia, Ava would have been in trouble with her niece.

As for acting talent, my intended mother for Esme is Cassandra (no recast of course). Cassandra & Esme and Cassandra & Ryan would certainly have very strong scenes.

I'm not used to NuHeather yet. I still see her as B&B's Pam in her manic phase, which doesn't mean Alley Mills isn't great, but I'm not over the moon just yet.

By the way, Port Charles park will never make it onto the list of the most beautiful parks in the country.
Olivia was mentioned Friday! I wonder if she will return in some capacity

Nu Heather will be not as strong as Robin Mattson, who was the gold standard.
I do like that Alley Mills is not a carbon copy - Her Heather would be more outspoken and such after
losing Franco, that does fit the story.
I liked the Kelly's Diner scenes

Just some weekly notes
I understand that Denise Crosby is no longer filming
Are Both William Moses and DC out? That is disappointing
Still not liking Sonny/Nina. I support Michael and Willow,
and Nina used TJ for her agenda, like Michael said.
I think Emma Samms has already stopped filming.
Laughable that that Deputy Mayor would intimidate Robert, the
superspy who took down Cassadines, terrorists, international criminals, etc
Dex is OK, can't stand Cody

We always make jokes (usually justified) about how incompetent the PCPD cops appear to be. We've all seen instances where they do very unprofessional things, and of course they take forever (or at least two Sweeps periods) to solve the rampant crimes that sweep that city. That was why I watched Dante's handling of the Heather situation with keen interest. He was patient, understanding, even caring about Heather, trying to treat her respectfully not because he was scared of her, but because that's how people deserve to be treated when they're not being threatening or dangerous. He even let her take that wonderful BLT (and the fries!) with her back to the asylum. It would have been easy to write a scene where Dante drew his gun and barked orders at the woman, since that sort of macho posturing is baked into the GH cake thanks to folks like Guza and Phelps (*spits*), but he handled the situation perfectly.

Cameron looked like he might need to do a panty check, though.

Isn't it funny that most of the time it's only noticed when PCPD is doing something wrong? Although, as with Sam's work, the right thing tends to be the exception. I was amazed at how quickly she was able to make a connection to the Ice Princess.

It has been mentioned multiple times that TJ has known Sonny for most of his life. How old was TJ when he came to Port Charles? 16 years. I've never seen a great bond between Sonny and TJ, but Sonny is a role model for everyone anyway. By the way, I think it's smart that Jordan and TJ are rarely seen together. I like this current Jordan, but her age as a mother to TJ seems even more unlikely than Olivia to Dante.

I don't like it when writers are careless. Didn't Cody come to town because his adoptive mother confessed on her deathbed that her sister was his mother? Suddenly he tells Britt that he has been on his own for most of his life. It seems writers are now going full jerk mode when it comes to Cody. Maybe they can save his character when fans are going to love to hate him instead of just hating him.

I noticed that about PCPD. The portrayal is...not too flattering!

Disney no longer requires vaccinations for the casts of all of its U.S. productions, as well as those who come into contact with them on set. So do you think Steve Burton will be back anytime soon? I can't imagine that Ingo Rademacher will return, but you never know.

If Jason's return meant an end to Carly & Drew's relationship (and possible marriage), I'd be all in.
Unfortunately, Steve Burton is not available, he is now on DOOL. Too bad,
he is needed, because the writing is not too good lately.
It is hard to fathom Jax not being there for his daughter with all of the goings-on with her.
IR should come back

I don't think Ingo will come back to the show any time in the near future, given the two different "offenses" he committed that makes him "Typhoid Mary" in the current political climate. He also filed some kind of lawsuit (wrongful termination?) a while back, and though I have no idea of that case is still pending, it certainly wouldn't make them want to hire him back.

Overlooking all that BTS stuff, one has to keep in mind that Jax was not really an important character at the time he was written out. He spent most of his time holding Carly's purse---a role now taken by Drew. They were not really writing for him, so I cannot imagine they would suddenly start.

Probably true, although the battle for ELQ could have utilized Jax in some capacity as an investor

You're right, of course. They had been mis-handling the character basically since his return. Rather than being a spoiler in various romantic pairings, they ought to have emphasized his corporate raider persona, involving him more in the various Port Charles businesses. The current head writers don't seem very enthusiastic about writing business storylines, though.

How come we never talk about Trinia's paternity, a topic that has been brought up again and again for many months, but ultimately nothing happens. My problem is that I don't know who to root for. When it came to Chase, I wanted Gregory to be his father, but with Trina?!? You never see Taggert (a character and actor I used to like) and when there are important scenes, such as Trina meeting her dead father again, it's TempTaggert and the real one isn't available once again. The sudden conflict between Curtis and Trina is too plot-driven to take seriously.

Why does Maurice Benard's son keep having to appear on the show? His character is useless.

Well, William Moses is still here.
Would like to see him a little more passionate, but maybe the more subtle approach is the goal of the writing

I think the Taggart character can be better utilized, as you seem to indicate.
I was liking him as Trina's father

I've sat through so many "who's the daddy"/secret paternity stories that it's now difficult for me to work up any sort of enthusiasm, especially when the overall tone of the story is one of "We have these characters who we need to create a story for". The story lacks momentum because it is only referred to once every two weeks or so, though to be fair most of the current plots suffer from this same hurry-up-and-wait feeling. The New Trina is playing the role so differently from Previous Trina that I often feel like this is just a new character. As you say, we can't keep Taggert (Real Andrews or a Temp Player) on the set long enough to invest in his position. The Jordan/Curtis/Portia love triangle is embedded in the story, but I feel like only one of the three actors (Brooke Kerr/Portia) is performing their role well. NuJordan is improving but still rather green, while Donnell Turner seems not to generate heat with either Portia OR NuJordan, even as both women are supposed to be after him. DT's best chemistry (that I've seen) is with Genie Francis and the actress playing Selina Wu.

If Taggert is not in fact Trina's father (and Curtis is), it really doesn't shake the foundations, if you know what I mean. It's one of those 'factoids' we learn and three months later it's not even being mentioned any more. Trina already has a story or two, and the J/C/P triangle might get a bit of a reset. With no major ramifications on the characters involved, the whole situation comes off as something to kill time onscreen.

Quite obvious that Robert set up Holly.
Can we finally learn who is "she" with regard to Austin
I still can't stand Sonny/Nina

Holly had a sister?

Once again, Nina causes trouble, and will presumably take no responsibility for it, except for a lame excuse.
So disappointed that they have written Sonny to be with her.

Nina deserved for Carly to be more...Carly. A little disappointed.

Yes, Carly has caused her share (more than her share of havoc) but none of that excuses Nina.
She is a whining, self-centered hypocrite who deliberately hurt Sonny's family and loved ones,
she had the choice to call some one other than Carly and didn't, and what about the
potential harm to TJ and his professional reputation? That is being glossed over.
Willow "America's Sweethart" - Willow should have said much more to her. Nina got away lucky.

By the way... No one who has no restaurant expertise waltzes in , makes changes and reaps immediate profits
alone. Someone else manages at the strategic level in such cases.

I despise Sonny/Nina, and the writers should stop it.

So Brook Lyn made a deal... It won't work.

What use is Cody if KT leaves? He is unlikeable anyway.

Please move the Ice princess angle faster.

I always imagined the so-called power of the Ice Princess was derived from it being one, large chunk of pure diamond. Depicting it as having been split up and refashioned into a necklace (pieces that apparently can just be stuck back together?) makes me wonder if Victor's plan is already set up to fail.

I can believe a plot where a huge diamond is being used to freeze the world, but I refuse to believe a bunch of smaller pieces of the diamond can do it. :confuse:

What I'd like to see: one of the stones in the necklace is in fact a fake. Victor's plot can't go forward until he finds the last piece of the IP. Turns out the last piece is mounted in the wedding ring that Peter gave Maxie. As Maxie's life is suddenly in jeopardy, she doesn't realize she's being helped by a guardian angel: "Ghost Nathan" is watching over Maxie and thwarting Victor's plots against her. Young James can interact with Nathan but Maxie just assumes James has an imaginary friend. Yes, it would be a direct rip-off of Another World's "Ghost Ryan" storyline (where Vicky's dead ex returned to stop her from being murdered by Grant), but I think it would be an opportunity to re-visit Maxie's best pairing and to remind the audience of better times. Plus...Ryan Paevey!! :eck:

Whenever Willow talks about not wanting anyone to know she has cancer because then you only see the disease and not the person, I wonder if being a nurse is the right career for her. Shouldn't a good nurse see the person instead of the disease? Willow's attitude is just plot-driven anyway so Carly doesn't find out she's sick.

I'm even a little curious as to what will become of Cody. Josh Kelly doesn't just have a six month contract I assume so what are they going to do with him for the rest of the time.
