End of An Era 2 - Roger Federer

[Angela Chilling]

After the recent news that Serena Williams is evolving away from tennis after the US Open earlier this month, Roger Federer has also decided to call it a day. One of the greatest players ever who won 20 grand slam titles in a era when Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic were also winning a similar amount of titles, he was part of a golden age in the sport. He will be sorely missed from the game.

For my money, the greatest ever grass court player of all time.

His tally of 8 Wimbledon singles titles is unequalled.

He conducted himself with elegance both on and off the court. A true gentleman of the game.

Tennis won’t be the same without him.

And @Angela Channing - his son is wearing an Arsenal shirt

Yes, I've seen the show and wondered whether that was because Granite Xhaka played for Arsenal and perhaps Roger knew him. The documentary was a fascinating insight into his life and the respect that his contemporaries had for him.
