Mid 70s UK Quirky Comedy Dramaa

Trying to track down the title of UK mid 70s comedy drama( NOT man about the house/ Rising damp) about a middle aged man & woman( unknown to each othe) have rented the same flat. After all the initial arguments they co
decide to make a go of it and share the flat. The episode I remember is where they put on a show for each other singing songs from Rogers and Hammerstein

This part sounds very much like Two's Company, which I watched for the first time about eight years ago. It starred Donald Sinden and American actress Elaine Stritch.

I'm not sure about the Rodgers and Hammerstein songs, but it's been a while so I dare say it could have happened in this series.

In Two's Company, Elaine Stritch's character hires Donald Sinden's as a butler...The setup is different. I doubt this is what you are remembering, Paddypoke.

No.both stars were middle class English and no butler role involved. For some reason Michael Craig comes to mind but his biography doesnt seem to pan out

Found it. It was called " MOODY & PEGG"..Derek Waring & Judy Cornwell. A gem.
