It's on demand and Video Streaming...I wonder what the budget is?

The highly anticipated spinoff of The Good Wife has begun production—and it has a new name. The Good Fight will premiere in February 2017 on CBS before moving exclusively to CBS All Access, the network's subscription video on-demand and live streaming service.

The announcement of the series' name also means you can start following a number of new social accounts for all the latest updates:

The new series is set one year after the original's finale. Showrunners Robert and Michelle King are returning, along with popular stars like Christine Baranski (Diane Lockhart), Cush Jumbo (Lucca Quinn), and Sarah Steele (Marissa Gold). Joining the cast are Rose Leslie (Maia Sindell), Delroy Lindo (Robert Boseman), Paul Guilfoyle (Henry Sindell), Bernadette Peters (Lenore Sindell), and Erica Tazel.

In the new series, an enormous financial scam has destroyed the reputation of a young lawyer, Maia, while simultaneously wiping out her mentor Diane Lockhart’s savings. Forced out of Lockhart/Lee, they join Lucca Quinn at one of Chicago's top law firms. We also know that Maia hails from one of Chicago's preeminent families, and Diane will be clashing with a rival attorney.

Brooke Kennedy is directing the premiere episode, which was co-written by the Kings and Phil Alden Robinson.

Can't wait until The Good Fight premieres in February? In the mean time, you can watch every episode of The Good Wife on CBS All Access. Not sure where to start? We've got you covered with The Good Wife Binge-Watch Guide.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this. The Good Wife is one of my all time favourite shows and Diane was one of the greatest characters on the show. The rest of the cast sounds great, too. Lucca Quinn was a nice addition to the final season, I really liked her and it's good to have her on the show in a bigger role.
Now, if only Eli Gold would still be around, I'd be in heaven :)

Oooo, that sounds good! Rose Leslie -- I guess it's the same Rose Leslie who played Ygritte the wildling on Game of Thrones? If so: yay!!!!

Love Christine Baranski. Good choice to have her on the spin-off.

I've only seen 3 episodes of The Good Wife. I liked it. I have seasons 1-4 on dvd, but I have not had time to watch yet.

I've finally started with TGW season 7 and I loved the first three episodes.
It's such a roller coaster ride, in fact I'm feeling a bit high from all the adrenaline.

Eli's mini-office, every time someone bangs the door against his desk - I've been laughing so hard, tears were running down my face. And I mean every time it happens.
People can't move around in that office!
It doesn't happen very often that I'm comically entertained by tv shows.

And?? What are your feelings on the final episode of TGW? It divided people from what I heard. I liked it. Sometimes a non-happy ending is more satisfying.

I want to do a TGW rewatch sometime in the not too distant future.

You will zoom through The Good Fight--only 10 episodes.

It wasn't a happy ending, but I didn't feel sad for her. It was simply the result of her own choices and actions.
She showed no mercy when she instructed Lucca to question Kurt's credibility and mention his affair with the blonde woman, but Diane would have done exactly the same.
In fact, Diane (love her!) has screwed over a lot of people, including Alicia and Cary.
I just couldn't picture Alicia and Jason ride off into the sunset, it wasn't that kind of show.
So, yeah, I really liked the ending.
:)
