10 Years After JR Miniseries

Dallas sometime in the far future when they can convince producers to give it another go . . . . . .


South Fork, cattle are rustled across the ranch the old way, by cowboys on horse back, and the house looks good as new. Ranch hands busy themselves unloading trucks of new stock. Gardeners tend rose beds. Housekeepers wash window.


A sofa is delivered and carried in the front door. Sue Ellen directs them to the living room, a room that feels very much like Miss Ellie's room but updated. There's a painting of Enoch Southworth and a Monet of water lilies above the fireplace.


Once the reupholstered sofa is in place and the tables around it, Sue Ellen puts out silver framed photos of the family, Miss Ellie and Jock, Clayton and JR. She smiles looking at JR and blows him a kiss.


A ten year old boy stands at the closed study door and Sue Ellen asks, "Jay, should you be eavesdropping?"


"How else am I going to know what's going on around here, grandma?"


She chuckles. "Maybe you shouldn't know everything."


"No I should. I need to know everything that goes on around here. There are too many secrets."


"Well sometimes the truth is difficult to handle."


"Nonsense. It is what it is. No one can change it. Worrying about the past never did anyone any good. People should worry more about the future."


"Should they?" Sue Ellen smiles.


"They should. Like when South Fork belongs to me."


"What about Ewing Oil?"


"It's an important family investment, but the real money's in JRE, grandma."


"You don't say."


"Tell me what South Fork means to you?"


Jay joins his grandmother on the sofa, "Well grandma, it means family, the continuation of something that's gone on for a long time. It's permanence."

"Your great great great grand father started the ranch. The part of the house with the kitchen and the dinning room, that's the original house. They they just kept adding onto it. Your grandpa's grandfather promised South Fork to him. His son had died and that's how they did things in those days, left everything to the oldest son. Your grandpa's mom, Miss Ellie, was worried though, that your grandpa wouldn't take care of the land. She gave the cattle business to your Great Uncle Bobby and left the rest to your daddy. He took half of it when his father died and was suppose to get the other half when Bobby died but they made a deal. Your daddy got the house to himself and in exchange they put the land in the protection of the Ewing Family Foundation."


"And the mineral rights?"


"You know about mineral rights?"


"Of course. I'm a Ewing."


"Well those were split up between the three boys. Your grandpa's share went to our children, John Ross and Ellie. Your Aunt Ellie's share was in my care until she turned thirty."


"What about Uncle Bo?"


"Your grandfather left him and your Uncle James trust funds. They weren't part of South Fork, but your grandpa hoped Ellie would be."


"Uncle Bo lives here now."


"Thanks to your daddy. He wanted his family around him."


"Back when momma and daddy were fighting?"


"Yes. See Ewing men have a hard time believing anyone really loves them."


"Momma loves daddy."


"Yes she does, but your father didn't believe it and he hurt her."


"How?"


"That's up to him to tell you."


"More secrets."


"It's just not up to me to tell you what went on in their marriage. You'll understand one day when you're married."


"Tell me again about grandpa's master piece."


Sue Ellen grins from ear to ear. "He had your daddy pull together the pieces of Ewing Oil that were scattered all over. Your grandfather formed an investment company as you know, JRE Enterprises. He'd become the largest shareholder in West Star, which owned the name Ewing Oil. Then there was Ewing Global that had the leases to the mineral rights on South Fork. Bobby and I owned control of it, but we'd borrowed the money from JRE, not knowing of course as Carlos DelSol was running the company for your grandpa."


"He got you two didn't he?" Jay boasts. "You two couldn't pay back the loan and JRE got your shares. And, the company filed a law suite against Grandpa Cliff for wrongful death and won his shares, leaving Momma and Christopher's shares. Daddy was suppose to go after them next but he'd married momma and Christopher was hurt."


"That's right. Which is why they each own a small share of Ewing Oil."


"The EO Corporation."


Sue Ellen laughs, "Yes that's it. Taking the company public was your Aunt Ellie's idea."


"She's a doctor of economics."


"Yes she knows the business of oil better than anyone I would guess."


"Why'd you keep her in England?"


"Because your grandfather and I didn't get along. At first I was going to never tell him about her. But when your father came to live with me, well, I had him in boarding schools and tried to keep the secret, but I couldn't. I'll never forget when he returned with her. He was so confident. He finally had what JR always wanted. Someone on his side without question."


"That's what daddy says is important, never fight my brothers. Always back their play."


"That's why Ellie and Bobby didn't get along so well and probably while he eventually left to live near Christopher in California. So the masterpiece, Harris Ryland goes to prison. His mother's elected senator and JRE squires Ryland Transport, which had some pieces of Ewing Oil too. Then the next thing we knew the Governor was impeached and off to prison. JRE easily picked up his Lone Star Refineries, also with Ewing Oil assets."


"And grandpa's friend Mr. Anderson was governor."


"That's right. He'd been Lieutenant Governor."


"Everyone's in prison and my daddy and Aunt Ellie put Ewing Oil back together. Bigger than ever. (show EO gas stations) And, when daddy inherited JRE he split it with Aunt Ellie and Uncle Bo. Sharing like Ewing's never did before."


"That's right. They share. Ellie runs JRE, your daddy bought the ranch off Bobby and runs it and Bo, well Bo."


Jay laughs, "Bo runs Branch Water. A paramilitary company so shhhhhhhh."


"Yes, shhhhhhhhhhh."





Television news report: "Over ten years ago legendary oilman JR Ewing walked out of a court room and was asked about his rivalries with people such as Cliff Barnes, Jeremy Wendell and Harris Ryland. He shrugged it off and said 'Remember the Alamo.' As these were the last words publicly spoken by JR Ewing most of Dallas had a good laugh.


Then, just over a year ago his good friend and Mexican billionaire Carlos DelSol, who had suffered a debilitating stroke a few months after JR Ewing's death, was speaking to his family on his deathbed instructions regarding his investments. His last words were, 'Remember the Alamo.' This set off an international search for an investment referred to as the Alamo among some family members of both the DelSol and Ewing families. The belief was that something big was owned by the two friends.


The only thing they found with a Connor toon between the two was the deserted Tip to Tail Ranch on the Mexican, New Mexican and Arizona border. The ranch is owned by Ewing Oil, from assets it acquired in its takeover of West Star and the DelSol Group. The business holds half a million acres on both sides of the boarder with Mexico, having began as a collection of personal property held by former West Star Chairman and CEO Jeremy Wendell. After being arrested on several charges related to conspiracy to defraud the Ewing Family, West Star and Jeremy Wendell's creditor, Chihuahua Capital, which is now an asset of the DelSol Group, acquired the property.


Then the story gets bizarre. The sole structure on the property is a cottage made of poplar trees with a sign above the door reading 'The Alamo.' Inside maps were found showing the Alamo Formation, and geologist reports showing with modern fraking technology two billion barrels of oil waiting to be extracted."





Oil rigs go up in the barren land on both sides of the Mexican boarder. Oil rains down on riggers including and rejoicing John Ross. "We did it Ruby! We did it! If only Drew was with us."


"JoRo you did it my man. This is all yours. We finally found the sweet spot thanks to you."






John Ross walks out of his study patting and older man on the back, "Marv, you're the tight man for the job. You've handling Ewing Oil marvelously. And with this new find, and your sister married to Jeremy DelSol, I'm sure you'll work out a fine deal. Keep my sister here posted. She's running JRE and we want to make sure as much of that money makes it on our hands as possible. Bo here will provide you with security for the property."


They walk past Sue Ellen and Jay talking pleasantries and heading to the front door.


Ellie leans down and says, "We did it Jay." She ruffles his hair. "We're gonna be swimming in money." She looks at JR's picture and says, "Thank you daddy," and kisses him.


Bo returns with John Ross hooting and hollerin'. "Were super rich now! Hot damn."


John Ross says, "But there gonna be problems. The DelSol Group wasn't able to get any concessions from the Mexican Government and so the oil on their side is national property. And they ain't too happy about our good fortune. Most of them don't care, but Gabi, she was married to Carlos's son who died about three years ago, and she's Jeremy Wendell's daughter. She's furious."


Sue Ellen stands, "Maybe before this gets out of hand, you just invite them over. It might not be as bad as you think."


"Well momma we're gonna have a little celebration barbecue and we might just do that."

South Fork is filled with people come to congratulate JR's kids on their strike. Bobby shakes John Ross's hand. Says to Ellie, "No hard feelings?"


"Over you fighting with my father and brother? Of course there is. Always will be. But no sense worrying about the past." The two hug.


Bobby asks Bo, "Your mother coming?"


"No. She doesn't like to travel to far from home. When I in the Navy, I tried to get her to visit me on all these far flung locations. She wouldn't leave home for nothin'."


"You get back much to see her?"


"Not really."


Ray comes up and says, "Can't believe JR set up a fund like this. Sure got to hand it to him. It's a master piece, JR style."


Lucy walks up, hugs all around. They ask after Mitch. "He's stayed in California, but look who I brought?"


Gary walks up and joins his brothers. "Leave it to JR to find North America's biggest strike. I read there are so many companies starting up in the area it's reminding people of daddy's days with Digger and Uncle Jason."


Bobby says, "21 billion barrels of oil plus natural gas. This is bigger than huge."


Bobby welcomes Marv saying to Gary, "You remember Punk and Mavis Anderson. This is there grandson. John Ross hired him to run Ewing Oil. So you're the man of the moment here. All this resting on your shoulders."




Lucy notices the handsome Mexican cow boy talking to Bo and asks about him. "That's Ruby. Diego Rubèn. Teresa and Carmen's nephew. He's been around here his whole life."


"Well he sure didn't look that good when I lived here."


Sue Ellen laughs, "He'd a been a kid with John Ross and his cousin Drew. When ever John Ross was here JR said the three of them were thick as thieves. He was in the Navy with Bo. Both Seals."


"You don't say. Ummmm."


"Lucy."


"I'm just lookin'"






A long black limousine pulls up behind the garage and gets everyone's attention. Pamela approaches with her boys. "Mrs. DelSol."


"Gabi, please."


"Welcome to South Fork."


"Thank you. This is my oldest son Wendell and his wife Amy. And this is my youngest Benjamin."


"Nice to meet you. "These are my boys, Jay," who stands defiantly between us mother and their guests, "Steve," who stands next to his brother if not just a bit behind him, "and Drew," who clings to his mother's leg. "Please make yourselves at home."


They walk up to the patio where everyone gathers. Gabi says to Pamela, "You're a Barnes I hear. I knew your father and Aunts. Well Kathryn wasn't a Barnes was she? Shame you're all that's left."


"I have a cousin."


"He's adopted. I wouldn't count him. Harris Ryland only has one daughter too. What was her name, Emma. What happened to Emma? Such a beautiful young girl. You know Amy here use to see John Ross back in the day, but I'm sure you know that. Not many women here he hasn't had a time or two. Oh Marv Anderson. How are you? Please tell me your wife is here. I've got to talk DOA business with her. Sue Ellen," she calls after her then turns to Pamela, "Your mother-in-law just has to get you to join the DOA. I believe through your grandmother, Rebecca Wentworth, you qualify." Then walking off toward Sue Ellen she says, "What an old Texas way to do things. A hoedown and I didn't bring my boots."


Sue Ellen says, "Gabi Wendell. Last person I'd expect to find at a Ewing Barbecue."


"Well if you're talking about my Daddy dying a broken man in jail, that's water behind hind us. I mean I can't speak for my boys but this current disagreement over who owns what of the Tip to Tail Ranch, I'm sure we'll settle it just fine."


John Ross says, "I hear you and Marv having a hard time coming to an agreement."


"Well not easy when he won't lay off insisting EO owns the American property alone."


"That was the call of the bankruptcy court when dealing with your grandfather's financial troubles."






Bo and Benjamin walk out toward the horses. Bo says, "I take it your family pretty much hates my family."


"That's nothing new. When haven't they. At least the Wendell side. The DelSol side thinks the world of you guys."


"Yea well I'm more concerned about your mother and brother."


"Oh you better believe they're gunning for you guys."


"And you?"


Benjamin smiles.


Bo kisses him.






"No listen here, Gabi," Ellie says, "A court order is a court order. Carlos went about buying up more land in Mexico and West Star in New Mexico and Arizona. It is what it is. Didn't Carlos leave enough money split five ways for you?"


"That's not the point."


"No, the point is your father rotted in prison because of what he did to my family. No one made him do the things he did."


Bobby steps up and says, "You wanta hold a grudge on someone, that'd be me. I set up your father, but for nothing more than to confess to his crimes."


"Because every time he turned around he was having to fight JR to keep ahold of West Star, which he ultimately lost to the Ewing's. You and JR destroyed my father, just like Jordan Lee's dead because of you two, and Harris Ryland's still rotting in prison. No you two did anything you wanted to anyone to get your way. Now these three are doing the same thing. Well I'm gonna stop them." She then looks at Pamela and says, "Your a pathetic sell out. But you know what I can understand. I'm the one who taught him how to please a woman."


Pamela shoves her.


She goes to shove her back but with John Ross getting in the way she shoves him and John Ross falls into the pool.


Bobby stood Pamela from attacking her.


Treading water in the pool John Ross laughs, "Darlin' don't go away mad."


Sue Ellen looks on in horror before cracking a smile.





Ellie stands in the way of Gabi and her boys betting g back in their car. "I just want you to recall you started this fight."


"Get out of our way," Wendell orders.


Ellie looks him up and down, "Why? Are you man enough to make me?"




John Ross gets out of the pool taking off his boots and shirt and says, "I'm fine. I'm fine. Get that band to playin' this is a party. Everyone, another round of drinks on me. We're celebrating the life of JR Ewing." He heads into the house.


Pamela says, "That dirty bitch. What did she even show up for?"


Sue Ellen says, "To ruffle our feathers."





Jay stands next to his aunt.


David says, "Your a tough little guy."


"I'm John Ross Ewing the forth. Did your momma ever figure out who you were."


"Why you little bastard."


Ellie laughs, "No I think the question is are you the bastard." She laughs and two walk away.

Intriguing start to your new story. I love how you keep JR's legacy alive in your stories by coming up with new business schemes and stuff even though he's long gone.

I also really like that John Ross long lost sister was Sue Ellen's daughter too. Imagined if that had happened on Dallas TNT. Nobody would have seen that twist coming and it would explain why John Ross was so happy to learn about his sister.

Like the family reunion and party to celebrate their big strike too. Wendell's daughter sounds like a real gossip. About her being pushed in the pool!

Bo says to Gary, "I heard Uncle Bobby signed over half his mineral rights for South Fork to Uncle Ray."


"Yea that's what he said. He wanted to make sure Charlie, Margret and Lucas were taken care of."


Bo hands him a check, "I want to buy half your mineral rights."


Gary takes a look at it, appearing impressed. "Your father forgot about you?"


"No. He remembered me and James, just not with a share of South Fork oil. But my brother and sister included me. I live here. And I own a third of JRE. What I'm missing is a sixth of South Fork's oil."


"I'll think about it."


Bo then hands him a large envelope. "Don't think too hard."


Gary looks at the contents and says, "Now I see the resemblance to your father."


"Well, I'll take that as a complement, since you resemble a termite. The papers are in there too. Sign 'em and leave 'em before you leave and cash that check in twenty-four hours, then we're all good."






John Ross pulls up his pants in their bedroom as Pamela asks, "So you really slept with her?"


"Gabi?"


"Gabi. Amy. Anyone else?"


"Do you really wanta know?"


"Pretty much answers that doesn't it?"


"Long before you. Gabi was married to Carlos's oldest son. She had plans to get her hands on the DelSol money."


"Which she did."


"She controls their trust fund, which is a fifth of his fortune. About fifteen billion dollars. And she did what ever to make her son, Jeremy Wendell, the Chairman of the DelSol Group."


"Do they stand a chance at getting a share of the Alamo Oil?"


"If they buy some mineral rights north of the boarder, but they're not touching our share."


"How rich are we?"


"Marv estimates when all' said and down, at the current price of oil, forty-five billion, each. With you and Chris, another five billion, each."


"Oh my God."


"He did say it was his masterpiece."


"Oh my God John Ross. Oh my God." Pamela begins kissing him, walking him backwards toward the bed."






Gabi and her boys get out of their car and walk up to the front door of their massive chateau. As they do, she says, "I paid a lot of money for the DelSol Group's half of the Tip to Tale Ranch and if I can't use it, I intend to get half of what the Ewing's have."


Benjamin says, "You swindled our aunts and uncles out of their share and you're pissed it turns out to be worthless."


"I'm mad the Ewing's are getting one up on us. I've waited a long time for the chance to strike and it keeps getting further and further away from me." She walks into the house. They follow."


In the massive entry, bright, white and elegant, Gabi says to her sons, "They destroyed my father and took his find. Your grandfather. They've destroyed anyone who got in their way. Cliff Barnes is rotting in a Mexican prison. Harris Ryland in a prison somewhere in Colorado. No. It's time these people pay for what they've done." Then looking at Benjamin, "Either you get on board with that or get out of my way."







Ellie gets off her horse and John Ross says, "What's this I hear you're working on getting a seat on the board of the DelSol Group? Are you trying to antagonize them?"


"It's called being preemptive. It's why I'm here isn't it? I know business."


"I'll never forget the look on Uncle Bobby's face when he found out we were keeping you a secret. Or when you told him we'd never fight over South Fork, that if it made me happy you'd burn it to the ground."


"Well h he ticked me off. Blaming you for everything, even Chris bring in the hospital. I don't put up with that crap. So did you really have an affair with Gabi Wendell?"


I was fourteen the first summer it happened. She's been plotting to destroy our father. Do you really think it was an affair."


"Oh my God. Fourteen."


"I honestly thought she loved me."


"When do you realize she didn't?"


"When I came back here to strike oil on South Fork. She set me up with Veronica Martinez. She manipulated the whole thing. Then when I was in jail she wouldn't help me get out. She knows everybody. She wouldn't even return my call. Told me it was too dangerous, getting caught together. Then when dad died."


"I told you to come to England. Getaway from the hornets nest. You just got deeper and deeper in the mess."


"I had to finish JR's masterpiece. When I knew I had to finance the take over of West Star, I should have know to call you then."


"Well, none the less you did. Now I've got this covered. I'll get on the board of the DelSol Group and keep a watchful eye on the Wendell's."


John Ross hugs his sister. "Thank you."


"Of course John Ross."








Bo gets down out of a helicopter as it lands along with a heavily armed crew. He says, "Don't forget, shoot to kill. I don't want anything happening to a single rig or stretch of pipeline. Lock it down."


"Yes Mr. Ewing."






Gabi welcomes Sue Ellen to Walnut Grove as the women of the DOA gather in her living room.



I'm the middle of the luncheon meeting Sue Ellen says, "Of course it's a good cause. The Ewing Foundation gives to children's medicine in several places around the country. I'm sure if I talk to Pamela, she'd underwrite the whole event for us."


A couple ladies ask after her and God Sue Ellen should get Pamela to join.


Sue Ellen couldn't agree more.






John Ross and Pamela shower together. She laughs as her lather her body saying they're suppose to be getting dressed for dinner. Her laughter turns to moaning as his hands continue to explore her body.






Ellie walks up behind Ruby in the barn as he's cleaning out a stall and slaps him on the ass. When he objects she tells him how much she enjoys him, while pulling apart his shirt.







Bo and Ben roll around in bed together.






The Ewing's gather in the living room for drinks before dinner. Ellie makes an announcement, "Chris sold his share of EO to Gabi. She informed Marv this afternoon."


John Ross is furious, accusing him of betraying the family and after all he's done to fund his methane research."


Ellie sits laughing with her drink in hand, "Yes but those patterns belong to EO and Chris doesn't own a single piece of the company."


"Yes but I'd rather he own a piece than Gabi."


"No worries. The bylaws of the corporation are clear. He must offer them for sale to an existing shareholder first and if he sells them to someone else, all we have to do is reimburse them. So, she really did us a favor. Marv sent the corporate lawyers over."


John Ross laughs. The front door bell rings. And he wonders who it could be.


Ellie asks Pamela if her share is for sale, "Put a lot of cash in your pocket tondo anything you want with it."


Pamela looks at her with skepticism.


Bo announces, "Its Benjamin DelSol."


The room stops in hushed silence looking at him. Ellie asks, "How long?"


"Over a year."


She looks highly up set.


The house keep shows him in announcing him and leaving the room. The older man stands there looking nervous.


Ellie straights herself up, crossing the room as if she's going to strangle him and hugs him. "Welcome Ben. I assume my brother told you dinner is eight sharp. You can't be late, but we always have some time to gather before hand." Taking his arm she leads him into the room. "You know everyone, I suppose at least from the other day. The boys are up stairs. They'll be down for dinner."


John Ross says, "So what'll it be."


"Soda water?"


"Sure. No problem. You sure, nothing stronger?"


"No that'll soda will be fine."





The Ewing's including Ben and the three boys gather around the table. The food is passed around family style and everyone talks about the kids school or charity work, and the Oil Barron's Ball that's coming up. Ellie suggests that her and her mother and Pamela get working on dresses soon. And then asks Ben if he'll be joining them at their table, telling him that Bo is usually her date and "Sue Ellen always goes with Sam Bronfman. Marv and his wife usually sit with us but maybe he could sit at the Anderson table. But that means I'll need a date."


Ben isn't sure as Bo hasn't asked him and he hasn't told his mother yet.


Ellie laughs, "Oh please let me tell her. Please."







Ellie, Sue Ellen and Pamela go over fabric while discussing with their dressmaker what they'd like to see. Pamela mentions loaning her grandmother's emerald to Ellie.







Ruby and John Ross mend a fence in the ranch. John Ross says, "So Ellie just came out and asked you."


"Well it was more like she told me I'm escorting her."


"Every function since she's been in Dallas, she's gone with



"I better not have to keep you in line?"


"Yeah right." Ruby laughs.






Sue Ellen and Pamela are having lunch together in a bright restaurant. Sue Ellen says, "I was surprised when John Ross showed up with her. Ellie is a home body. I would never have thought she'd have left England, except John Ross went to get her. When Don and I separated she stayed with him. He's like a father to her. Kind of like Dusty's a father to John Ross. When JR's your father you need someone else to help ground you."


"John Ross has got a lot of people in his life. I never meet someone with so many friends. And more x-girl friends."


"He's like Bobby that way. Ellie's more like JR. JR only had two friends that I know of and I didn't really know of Bum until toward the end of his life."


"Who was Bum?"


"A guy who did stuff JR needed being done."


"Oh John Ross might of mentioned him. Then there was Carlos."


"Yeah they'd been friends since college but John Disapproved. Well it was how it was in those days. Carlos was Mexican. And not that JR ever brought him up, he knew better. But the two of them were literally thick as thieves."


"I bet."


"I worry Ellie's more like that. She doesn't have any friends that I know about."


"Well she's been over there quite a while."


"Business."


"Probably. She is close to her brothers."


Sue Ellen takes a contemplative sip of tea. "For three kids raised pretty separately, they are very close. When Bo was at boarding school John Ross use to go visit him and bring him over to England to see Ellie. I think they thought no one knew about there secret meetings. You know, no matter how many friends John Ross had around I don't think he ever felt anything but lonely. Until he brought his brother and sister to South Fork."


"I'm sure I didn't help."


"Well your marriage had a rocky start."


"That wasn't all John Ross's fault. As far as he knew I was in love with Chris. Telling a man like John Ross you're in love with him doesn't mean much. He's heard that his whole life. You have to prove it, and I kinda worked on disproving it."


"Yeah, he's like his father in that way. Whatever happened to that Arab prince?"


"John Ross told you about him?"


"No. Bobby. John Ross doesn't share his troubles."


"Nothing happened between the two of us. I just wanted John Ross to think it had. Looking back it wasn't such a good idea. Took us a long time to get past it."


Ellie returns to table. "That was Leland. We're talking about buying some properties off them here in Dallas but we weren't getting anywhere with their people so I think I might have loosed up the negotiations."


"I'm certain you're like your father, and I don't want to know how you went about it."


"I'm persuasive."








John Ross opens up mail in his study. Looking strangely at one he turns the envelope over and on the sealed flap it reads in embossed script, 'John Ross Ewing II.' Looking knowingly content, he takes out a letter and reads it, a smile turning to horror."







In the cottage on South Fork Bo comes out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel and brushing his teeth. "What do you mean it's best we don't sit together."


"My mother hates your family. I'm just not ready to go there."


"When will you?"


"I don't know."


"So never."


"I didn't say that, Bo."


"You didn't have to"


Bo returns to the bathroom.







Guests arrive for cocktails at South Fork before the Oil Barron's Ball. John Ross introduces Marvin Anderson and his wife as old family friends to his new Wall Street investor, "Joshua Bates. He believes in diversity with one-third in securities like businesses, one-third land say as rental property, and one-third stuff such as gold. No three ever go down at the same time. You keep your money moving. When gold is up and stock are down, sell gold and buy stocks. All that money you make off the Alamo o oil will be go through his and Ellie's hands. We're even talking about taking the company public."


"Public? Well that'll be a different way to run things," Marvin comments.


John Ross pats him on the back. "We know we can count on you."




Ellie stands by Ruby who asks him why she doesn't mingle. Ellie responds, "Why don't you?"


"I prefer to watch people. You can learn a lot by watching."


"Good point."


"Why do you stand back, if you don't mind me asking?"


"I don't really know any of these people. Well except for family. And Professor Bates. And Marv Anderson, I guess."


"You not like John Ross are ya? He'll cover this whole room and then tonight the whole ball room and people will think they've spend the whole evening talking to him."


"I find people best in small doses."


"What do they just irritate you."


"Yes."


"Well I'm glad I don't irritate you."


"Who says you don't?"


"Oh I see."






Sue Ellen introduces Bo to Addy Bronfman, Sam's daughter. "Nice to meet you, she says. Your mother told me your boyfriends situation."


Sue Ellen goes to correct her.


Bo cuts bet off, "She wonderful isn't she? We have to hide from Ben's family but not mine." He hugs Sue Ellen from the side.


"She didn't tell me about this Ewing Wendell Feud you have going on but assured me you'd fill me in."


"I did tell her the shirt of it. Jeremy Wendell and your father fought over business, both having no problem skirting the law. But, Jeremy Wendell just got caught. Spent years in prison and lost most of his money."


"Well there isn't much more except now we own a piece of property in New Mexico with a lot of oil on it and she thinks we should share it. But the part her family owns is in Mexico and the oil belongs the government."


"And she thinks she should get your part?"


"Something like that. It had belonged to her father but he lost it paying off his debts."


"I see."


"Her late father-in-law had been working to get the Mexican government to release any oil along the boarder for joint American Mexican businesses, but he never accomplished it. They're the DelSol's so they're far from broke themselves."


"No that's true. They certainly aren't."







The ballroom fills up with People. Sue Ellen and her date, Sam Bronfman find the Ewing table, a round table front and off to the side. She looks into the center of the room and sees Gabi taking a table with her family, two sons, Amy and a date for Ben. Marv and his wife join them. Gabi gives an obviously fake welcome to them.


The Governor stops by the Ewing table and he and Sue Ellen hug as old friends. "M.J. Addy, I'd like you to meet former governor Marvin Anderson the third. He's Marc's father who you meet at the house."


He olds out his hand, "You can call me MJ darlin'". The shake.


"So where are you sitting?"


"I'm here with Gabi Wendell."


"Oh M.J. seriously?"


"I know but she's a hard woman to say no to."


"You should of tried," Sue Ellen laughs.






John Ross marches up to Gabi as she crosses the room. Pulling her to the side she objects. He hands her the letter from JR. "Is JR true?"


She looks over it and her face turns to stone. "You don't need me to confirm your father's telling you the truth do you?"


"In this case yes."


"Nice of him to apologize for his role but seems selfish to me. What's done is done. He's just easing his conscious. By why now? And who sent this for him?"


"Answer the question."


"Yes Jermey is your biological son."


"How could you hate me so much to have kept this from me."


"You were a child, seventeen. And I was married. And your father didn't give me much choice, as you can see."


"I loved you. And this is what you did to me." He walks away from her. Crossing the room Ellie sees him and beelines right to him, "What's wrong John Ross."


He stops long enough to say, "I take it back. There are no limits to dealing with Gabi Wendell, end her." He hands her the letter continues his march out of the room.


Reading it her face turns to stone. Pamela approaches and asked her what's going on. She shares the letter and when Pamela says she's going to kill her, Ellie stops her and says, "No. My brother need you. You take care of him. I'll take care of her."


The two go their separate ways and Sue Ellen stops her next. "What's going on?" Ellie shares the letter. "That bitch!"


"I've got this," Ellie assures her.


"No he's my son. Leave her to me." Sue Ellen matches up to Gabi who's returned to family, Ellie right behind her. Shoving the letter at her, "You're sick!"


"Oh Sue Ellen, come to play the wronged mother. It doesn't suit you."


"You used my son to get back at the Ewing's didn't you?"


"Your son didn't object once. Besides when we're you ever sober to play mother?"


Sue Ellen smacks her, "You bitch. Fine you want a fight. You got one, but this time it's all the Ewing's you'll be fighting "


"Not all."


Sue Ellen grabs the letter from Gabi and shoves it into her son's hand. "None of us knew, but you can be sure, we'll welcome you."






Pamela finds John Ross walking into an elevator and quickly gets in with him. He asks her to leave jim alone alone. She refuses, tell him she saw the letter.


"Then you've come to yell at me, because I really can't deal with that right now."


"No, of course not."


"How can you even stand to look at me?"


"This isn't your fault."


"I wasn't an idiot. I knew what I was doing. I knew she was married. I didn't really know the DelSols. They were all older than me. But I knew of them. I knew she was Jeremy Wendell's daughter and I certainly knew what we were doing and the consequences."


"You didn't know he was your son."


"I knew he could be. But I didn't want to know. And she . . ."


"She what?"


"Nothing."


"John Ross. We promised no more secrets. You told me everything, even about her and I can't say women popping up in your past is easy for me, but I have my last too."


"Two guys. Two. That your father pimped you out to. It's not the same."


"You loved her."


"She . . . The things she said."


Pamela holds him, "You're safe John Ross. I'll never leave you." She hold him tight.








Sue Ellen meets with Bum. He tells her he had no idea what was in the letter, just that JR gave him letters to mail with notes of when to mail them. "The last one was when they struck oil on the Tip to Tail Ranch."


"I better look over what you've got left."





With a stack of letters in front of them Sue Ellen leans back on a sofa, closes her eyes and recalls the last time she danced with JR. (TNT deleted scene). She ten sits up and says, "That's a lot to take in."


"He really loved you."


"Yes he did . . . So Ben isn't Junior's son either."


"That woman's a piece of work, isn't she?"


"Certainly is." Sue Ellen says, "I'll hold onto this one. When things calm down with Jeremy, I'll give it to him. It might mean something that his grandfather didn't forget him."






Bo walks into the study where John Ross stares at a bottle of Bourbon. "Ben's talking to his brother."


"You didn't have to do that." John Ross doesn't look away from the dark amber liquid.


"It was Ben's idea."


"Right before I married Pamela, I slept with Amy. She was eighteen at the time."


"Well her son's not that old so he's not yours."


"No. That's true. I have grandchildren."


"You do. Grace and William. They're pretty cute."


"Dad said the cover up was for Carlos's son too. Carlos certainly didn't like Gabi as a daughter-in-law but no one wanted him hurt like that. I'm the one that hurt him. And he never knew."


"No you didn't. She did. She used him to get at his family's money. To get at a connection to our father. She used you both because somehow she thinks she has a score to settle."


"There's a provision in Carlos's will that only biological descendants can inherit."


"He knew that was cut off Jeremy."


"He did. Gabi inherited her money from her husband. Which is considerable, but not like the bulk of the DelSol fortune."


"So he looses everything. What about his running the DelSol Group?"


"That's up to the family. He's mostly just a figure head. But I hear he's learning, like a supped up internship. Carlos does have a special prevision for him and Ben in his will."


"What is it?"


"I don't know yet. Ruby went to pry into the sealed codicil."






Ben drives in his car away from his mother's house, shaken, distraught.






In Mexico City Jeremy attempts to walk from his car at the curb as a horde of reporters rush him on the way to the corporate offices of the DelSol Group. They bombard him with questions regarding his biological linage and that of his brother Ben.







Ellie looks over blue prints of a runway in the dinning room. Pamela steps in and says, "What are you doing?"


"I ordered a private jet for the family and John Ross said I could put in a landing strip on the Henderson property."


"Are you serious?"


"Certainly. Nothing gaudy. A Boeing 757."


"Isn't that a bit big?"


"Well for family and friends."


"John Ross and I were talking about adding on as well."


"To the house?"


"Yes. Grandpa changed it to suite them. Now we should do the same. Bigger. Not pretentious just bigger."


"I think we're just fine the way the house is. I don't really want it bigger. We talked about a rec room over one of the barns."


"That could be nice. But I mean like a mansion, not just a large house."


"Why don't you build your own place on the property, as big as you want?"


"You mean use this like a office or a guest house?"


"No I mean leave this to John Ross and our family."


"What and live by myself?"


"You would be by yourself. You'd have a huge staff living with you."


"That might work. Maybe something overlooking the lake on the Brandies property John Ross bought."


"Sure. Tear down that little ranch house and build something as orientate as you like."


"Not a bad idea. And you won't be upset?"


"Not in the least. As long as you're happy."


"I'll talk to John Ross right away."


"You do that."







Gabi sits on her patio looking out at her back yard, a grand, sculpted lawn leading to well maintained paths among shrubs c d flowers and trees. She takes another sip of her cocktail. "You won this round JR. But the war isn't over yet. I've got a trick or two up my sleeve."







Ben knocks on Bo's cottage door. Bo opens the door and surprised says, "Ben. I been trying to get a hold of you all day. Did you talk to your brother?"


"Can I come in? I need to be with someone."


"Sure. What happened?"


"I just found out that my dad isn't my real father either."


"Oh Ben." Bo hugs him.







In the barn John Ross shakes the hand of a lawyer. "Mr. Ewing. I've been trying to get a hold of you. Ricard Davis. I'm one of Carlos DelSols lawyers. The chief administer of his trust."


"Nice to meet you. How can I help you?"


He puts down his briefcase and takes out a crucifix, handing it to John Ross. "Mr. DelSol left this to you."


Looking it over John Ross smiles. "My father sent me a letter saying Carlos was suppose to be my Godfather, but my father didn't dare bring it up to his dad. This puts that to rest. Thank you."


The man then hands him some papers. "Mr. DelSol asked me to give you this to give to your son, Jeremey."


"What is it?"


"Deeds to the Tip to Tail Ranch property. He bought the property on both sides boarder from both companies."


"Are you serious?"


"Yes I am. He left it to Jeremy and Ben and to you to share. Apparently he worked out a deal with JR, knowing that at least for now they'd never get the oil off the Mexican side and that Mr. DelSol's son considered this boy's his sons. He and your father wanted to make this right.


"Oh my God. Well, thank you. I'll speak to them. By the way. Who is Ben's father?"


"Cliff Barnes."





John Ross walks up to the pool where his family, with Ben gathers. "I've got some news for everyone. Carlos DelSol's lawyer just visited me."


Pamela says, "First I want to tell you something." A hug smile across her face. "I know this has been hard for Ben. And I'm so sorry, or what's happened to you but I can't tell you how thrilled I am that your my brother."


"That's one of the things he told me."


"You were talking about me?"


"Yes Ben. As you know Carlos's will cuts you and Jeremy out, at least in terms of his family trust."


"It'll be some getting use to but I don't give a damn about the money. Pamela's offered to go to Mexico with me. I want to make sure I'm good with my father's family."


"That's a good idea. A very good idea. Anyway. Carlos's lawyer presented me with the deeds to the Tip to Tail Ranch. He and my father schemed to get it away from the two companies and did. He owned the land on both sides of the boarder, leaving half to you and Jeremy to split and half to me, as his God son."


Shock comes over the group. Ellie state's, "So Bo and I have been cut out?"


"No I intend my half for us to split up as owned by JRE. We'll lease mi real rights to Ewing Oil and in the end not much will change."


"Not much. We still have lost half the mineral rights. That's tens of billions of dollars. Sorry Ben. It's just a shock. Seems the only ones that benefit here is your DelSol family."


John Ross laughs. "Ellie. There's plenty of money to go around. We'll figure it all out. Besides Carlos had acquired a lot more land then we'd figured on."


"How much more land?"


Three times as much. I don't think we've lost a thing. Maybe picked up something. We've got somehow convince the Mexican government to give us leases to the oil on their side and we'll be better off than we were."


A smile crosses Ellie's face, "Really."


John Ross offers a hand to Ben. "Your welcome to stay here as long as you like. And congratulations. Pamela here, she'll make one hell of a big sister."


Sue Ellen takes John Ross to the side, "I really do think your father is trying to fix a lot of the wrong things he did."


"I agree. But there are things you can't fix. But I appreciate he cared enough to try."


"Have you spoke to Jeremy?"


"Tried to. I've got Ruby looking for him. He was in Mexico City. Resigned from the board of the DelSol Group."


"Those boys loved the man they thought was their father. And no matter what's happened in the past few days, they love their mother."


"She's lost control of their DelSol money."


"She's not broke is she?"


"No. Far from it. But she's taken a hell of a hit."


"She's going to be coming after this family."


"I know. She thinks all that oil was stolen from her father."







Gabi walks her garden cutting flowers for a basket hanging from her arm. Jeremy walks up to her. Without blinking an eye she asks, "Did you hear about the Tip to Tale Ranch?"


"Of course I did."


"Your brother moved to South Fork."


"He's in love with Bo Ewing. But he's still a Wendell."


"That's right. And so are you."


"So now that we have half the oil, what's the plan to get the other half."


Gabi smirks and continues to cut flowers.

A nice little movie or miniseries to tell us whatever happened to JRs masterpiece and his family.

I'd say the keys is Gabi would need to be a bigish name, someone in her 50s that gets her own attention as playing the bad guy - Rosie Perez or some such actress? I see her as more Frank Underwood and Don Corleone than JR.

Yet the focus is still on the Ewing's. The Wendell boys, sexy, twenty something Hispanic guys would get a lot of attention, as would a blonde Bo and a Blonde bombshell Amy. I picture Ellie a brunette and much of the cat fighting and boardroom fighting between her and Gabi.

A glass tower cuts the skyline of Dallas. By the door a sign reads, 'Wendell Energy.' Off the elevator steps Gabi. The receptionist greets her. "Good afternoon Miss Wendell. Your son is in a meeting . . ."


"No worries. I'll surprise him."


On the front of a door it reads, 'Jeremy DelSol y Wendell, President.'


Gabi opens the door and says, "Marty."


A handsome Hispanic man turns from looking over blue prints to speak curtly, "Gabi."


They kiss cheeks, forced my Gabi. "How are are the DelSol's?"


"Just fine. Soumaya sends her love."


"No doubt with knives."


"No doubt. But Jeremy here, she wishes him well."


"Of course. The whole family does. Regardless of what my father's will says or some paternity test, they're my brother's sons."


"Mother is there something I can help you with?"


"No I was in town and just thought I'd stop by and say hello to my favorite brother-in-law."


"Well now that you have, can we crack on? I've got a meeting later today with EO and we've got to make sure we're ready."


"Oh. With John Ross?"


"Marv Anderson. We're looking to build a massive new refinery. Which is damn near impossible, but with the financial backing of the DelSol Group and JRE we're gonna pull it off."


"Well let me know if you need my help. I have many friends finical markets."


"I've got this. You know who could use your many friends is Ben. He's opening up his restaurant later this week."


"Oh I'm already on that. I'll have the place packed. Will you be there for the opening, Marty?"


"Of course. Soumaya and Antonio as well."


"Oh how nice. And Marta?"


"She's in Europe."


"To bad. Her and I always got along so well."








John Ross walks through the Wendell's yard to the pool where Amy come out of the water in a string bikini. "Something I can help you with?"


He hands her a letter, "Please give this to Gabi."


Drying off and then taking it, "Sure. Would you like to stay for lunch. I'm having salmon."


"No thank you. Just make sure she gets that. It's from my father."


Amy puts herself against him; her hand rubs his crotch. "Stay and have lunch with me."


His eyes rolling back in his head. He then backs up. "Just give her the letter."


Amy laughs, "If you're sure."


"My son and grandchildren deserve better than you."


"Oh come on. Please. You're son. Since when? Jeremy DelSol is a half wit. Since when were you a half wit?"


John Ross studies her. "You're right. I'm not a half wit and neither is my son. But you are. And a gold digging whore. Just give that to Gabi. I bet she won't be too pleased if you don't." John Ross walks away.


Amy watches him with a grin.







Ellie sits on the ground by JR's grave. "All those years you spent hidden away in the nursing home plotting. I still remember the first day I meet you. I was at a riding camp in Virginia where momma use to go as a kid and there you just showed up and introduced yourself. Our secret you said. I hated Bobby right then and there. I know you didn't mean for me to hate him, but when you told me about your battle for Ewing Oil with him, I couldn't understand. No way would I ever fight John Ross like that. I didn't care what your will would say. He was my brother. They hurt you bad daddy.


You never told me you took care of Gabi Wendell. What a bitch. It must have been an awful burden to sit in the nursing home knowing that secret. He's still a Wendell, but I promise you he'll be a Ewing. I've got to get rid of that Amy Anderson though. You were wrong about her. She doesn't hate the Ewing's like Gabi but she not a good wife. She's a spoiled brat.


Things didn't turn out the way you thought. John Ross didn't marry Marta. He married Pamela Barnes. And my secret trust fund in Argentina. I told him about. We share it. Along with JRE. We get along daddy. That part o know you'd like. All three of us.


Bo's running a company John Ross set up with a bunch of CIA contacts and Bo's military friends. Branch Water. He's seeing Cliff's other child, Ben. Can't imagine all these Barnes would make you very happy. But like I said, I'll never fight my brother. Neither one of them."







Sue Ellen watches the housekeeper and Pamela cook in the kitchen. "You sure you won't attend tomorrow's DOA meeting?"


"Positive," Pamela answers. "You don't need me to explain the Foundation backing setting up an annual rodeo here at South Fork"


"I suppose not. But I'd like you there when I explain we're partnering to raise money for Children's Hospital."


"There have just been women I don't like so much."


"Well no of course not. It's just, well all the woman at South Fork have belonged. Miss Ellie's mother, Miss Ellie, me. You could."


"I could but with members like Gabi Wendell, I'd rather not."


"That part I can understand."


Pamela asks, "She does understand her father wasn't some saint taken advantage of?"


"I don't know she thinks."


"You know I never even knew him but I feel sorry for her late husband. Raising two boys that weren't even his. I don't know. Maybe it didn't matter."


"Maybe not. It didn't to Carlos. He took care of them, but could you imagine having her as your daughter-in-law and then loosing your son like that? I don't know if I would survive losing John Ross. It's not the natural order of things."


"That's true." Pamela considers somberly.


"I'm sure her her other husbands are considering paternity tests.


"How many other times was she married?"


"I think three. I thought we were all going out to dinner, that restaurant Ben's opening up."


"This is for the boys."


"Ah. Miss Ellie's chili."






Gabi rolls off a much younger man in bed, completely out of breath a sweaty. She composes herself and than says, "How long ago did we get you in Ellie's office?"


"Three."


"Finally its about to pay off. She'll take EO public and I'll be ready." She turns to her side and rubs his chest. "As long as you don't forget our arrangement."


"You remind me often enough."






Pamela walks into a restaurant busy with people rushing around to get everything just so. She finds Ben polishing glasses at the bar. He welcomes her and she mentions everyone will be in for dinner. She comments on how nice the place looks and he tells her he's always wanted to have his own restaurant, how much he likes have bf people around, entertaining.


"The opposite of Bo, you know. He likes to be alone most of the time, in his quite little cottage."


"I know. This is anything but his thing. But he'll be here for a little while."


"Yeah. We'll all be here."


"Is it true that Cliff Barnes is insane?"


"I'm afraid he doesn't have a very good grasp on reality, no. I have him in a home in Mexico. It's a pretty place over looking the ocean if you want to visit him. He doesn't really know who I am."


"Then he really won't know me."


"He knows John Ross. He thinks he's his son. He loves to hear stories about him."


"And Kathryn Wentworth as well?"


"She's in a mental hospital in Switzerland."


"Are you afraid that you'll . . ."


"Very much so."


"Pamela Barnes?"


"Honestly no one knows what really happened to her. The story we got was fishy and we never did find her body. So I don't really know. There's also a lot of money missing. Who knows. She could be out there somewhere."


"Can of scary to think about."


"I try not to."


"Pamela and Kathryn never had any children?"


"Not as far as I know."


"Are we the Cliff's only biological children?"


"I guess that's as far as I know too. Kinda messed up. The Ewing's are pretty normal. JR was married twice, two kids with his first wife, one with his second. I did here there's another son, James Beaumont, from someone he knew when he was younger. Gary has three with Val, I guess he was married once or twice before remarrying her. And Bobby adopted one with out Aunt Pam.


"Fairly normal I guess. Of course I though my family was as well."


"The DelSol's. Probably are except your mother."


"There is something about your mother. She certainly hates the Ewing's. As far as I can tell Jeremy Wendell was as much to blame for what went on as JR Ewing."


"I'm sure you're right. One spent his final years in a home, the other in a prison. Was JR Ewing plotting the whole time he was in the home?"


"Appears that way. My, I mean our, father sure hated him."


"Everyone likes John Ross, he's got friends everywhere you turn."


"Not everyone. His cousin Chris and him have this rivalry. And that kinda spilled over to Bobby. And your mother."


"My mother doesn't hate him. She gives a good impression. You ask me, she's in love with him."


"What?"


"For as long as I can remember she's hated the Ewing's, but she'd always make up an excuse for John Ross. His father put too much pressure in him or his mother drank to much. She said his grandparents left him a lone with these monsters just to travel. And that Bobby tainted the family against him in favor of his son. She even said you used him."


"Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?"


"I know what she did was wrong. But she loves him. In her twisted way. You said your father thinks he's John Ross's father."


"That started about a year after JR died. A letter showed up explaining why he was. John Ross and Sue Ellen went down to see him. He insisted Sue Ellen tell him the truth. Sue Ellen got him into a nursing home. She's about the only one who visits him."


"You don't."


"He almost killed me and my children, Rebecca and Robert, he did kill them. They're buried at South Fork."


"He set out to kill them?"


"No but we were an acceptable casualty."


"He really is ill."


"He doesn't remember any of it."


"I'd like to meet him. Do you think Sue Ellen would take me?"


"Oh I'm sure. Don't expect much."


A crowd starts to fill the restaurant, everyone thrilled to see the place. John Ross walks in talking to several old friends. Ellie says Bo couldn't get away, he's got an issue in New Mexico.


Ben looks sad overhearing the news. Pamela says, "He doesn't do well with crowds, that's all. Really. This sort of thing really up sets him. I'm sure he'll be home when you get there. Now come with me and listen to Ellie babble on all night about this big new house she's planning."

Sitting at a round table in the new restaurant, about half a dozen people gather around John Ross and Ellie. Ellie says, "Seriously. I don't care, Republican or Democrat. The thing is you have to get at the cause of something. Then you can go from there. All this political party crap just keeps people from in line. I don't stay in someone else's line."


Pamela wants to know who got Ellie talking politics.


The table laughs.


Ben brings out another plate of appetizers and says, "What I want to know about is this art collection of you and your mother's in New York."


"Well after my mother separated from Lord Maitland, the Viscount of Weatherby, we moved to New York. She sent me to Miss Porters. Some where in there Don's father died and she became known as Lady Maitland and he was onto his latest adventure, some import, export business. Well my mother got involved and started collecting art for her apartment in New York City."


One of the people at the table said, "I read that her share of the art collection they shared is worth something like a billion dollars."


"I don't know about that. You'd have to ask her. But we worked on it together right through when I was at Yale." She looks around the room and sees Sue Ellen at another table with several people her age chatting over dinner.


"I heard she has a Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Willem de Kooning. I also heard she was very much part of the art scene in those days. Even modeling."


"That I can attest to. Yes my mother was involved with Phillips. Of course it was a platonic affair as he's gay," Ellie laughs. "Andy Phillips. What a sweet, charming man."


"When did your mother come back to Dallas?"


"I don't know. I was in London working on my Ph.D. Her uncle left her some gas stations here in Texas. I know she finally divorced Don and returned her to do business as Sue Ellen Shepard, mostly investing in everything she could get her hands on. Did pretty well. Started to give away her uncle's money. Anyway, people of course called her Sue Ellen Ewing."


"I remember my brother starting up a tech company. She financed him Got him off the ground."


"My mother has an eye for value. She can spot potential a mile away. She became know in the art world for spotting the next great talent far more than for her husband's pricey collection. My mother does have talent."


"And a heart of gold," Pamela chimes in.


John Ross laughs. "What is this the Sue Ellen Ewing fan club?"


"Your mother's fascinating," someone says.


"There's an understatement," Ellie laughs.



Then there's a hush as Gabi Wendell walks in with her entourage. Ben excused himself to welcome his mother. She says, You know Ari. He flew in from Greece this afternoon just for you."


"Welcome Mr. Livanos. I heard you were hear to talk business with my brother. He's set up several deals with Middle Eastern countries and needs you to ship his oil."


"Well that too. You remember my daughter Ollie?"


"Yes of course. Welcome. It's been sometime. How are you?"


"Excellent, thank you. I can't wait to try something you made. I told my dad you were an excellent cook in school."


"Well lets get you a table."



On their way Gabi says, "Good evening, John Ross. Pamela. Enjoying yourselves?"


"Of course." Pamela smirks. "My brother is an excellent cook. And, he's done a fabulous job, don't you think?"


"It's a very nice place. But then he comes by it naturally. You've seen our house. It's a work of art. And Claire, she's a classically trained French chef. Claire is our cook. She's taken care of Benjamin since he was a boy."


"Well. I'm glad he had some positive influences."


John Ross says, "Wasn't Carlos DelSol, Jr. the architect of your house here in Dallas? He was a very talented artist as I recall, designing several buildings here in Texas and Mexico."


"All of my husbands were talented. But let me keep you from enjoying your meal."


"Oh no worries. We'll close the place down."

I'm confused. How much older than John Ross is Gabi Wendell supposed to be?
I mean she slept with a 14 year old and Cliff Barnes?

I like how JR is still trying to rule things from the other side of the grave with his letter and that Sue Ellen knows how much he loved her.

It's fascinating how he had some sort of relationship with his daughter Ellie even though nobody else knew about it. How old was Ellie when they met?
I get why she thought of Don as her father considering that Sue Ellen was married to him at the time.

I like the conversation between Pamela and Sue Ellen discussing John Ross and Ellie.

Oh and I almost forgot, I am glad that Cliff Barnes is no longer in prison. But I do hope he is not John Ross father. Because JR was.

I'd say John Ross is in his 40s here. Cliff is in his 80s. I'd put her in the middle - 60s. Yes she's a pretty apprehensible person.

In TNT they tried that with JR, keep him in the story, but their idea of a master piece fell flat.

I figured they met when Ellie was very young. 2 or 3. Like Callys son he thought his children were some how better off without him. Then he had that breakdown. I see her looking to Don as a father figure but looking at JR as her father, her larger than life idol.

No Cliff isn't John Ross's dad - Cliff just has lost all touch with reality.

So I think it would have been more believable if the age gap had been less, say if she'd been 18 and he had been 14. But a 34 year old woman and a 14 year old boy...that's just gross.

Yes it was a crime. Yes it is suppose to be gross. She's not suppose to be likable. She's an evil woman who used a kid to hurt JR. I suppose I could see her maybe 10 years older than him, but the idea is she's pretty disturbed.
