Then she blames her tweet on Ambien.

Then she returns to Twitter to respond to her co-workers comments, calling them ungrateful.

Then she continues to be racist, showing the world that she's NOT sorry.

Then she feels sorry for herself because she gets called out for being a racist, saying that poor Trump has to deal with this daily.

I see ABC has already sprung into action in an attempt to quickly fill the hole left by Roseanne on Tuesdays. They're already talking about building a The Middle spin-off centered around (arguably) the best character on that show, Sue Heck.

Also, The Goldbergs spin-0ff Schooled, which was originally destined for mid-season, might start earlier. Neither show will get Roseanne's jumbo ratings, but the built-in audiences could give them a solid start.

I actually think the show could go on without Roseanne. John Goodman certainly has the gravitas to carry the show. Imagine him dealing with Roseanne's death while still having to take care of Darlene and her kids. Jimmy Kimmel even jokingly put together a fake trailer for the show called "Dan."

Roseanne stopped being funny when she lost a lot of weight (imho). That's great for the actress, but not for the character she played on the show.

I guess this is proof that some actresses were better off before twitter existed!

Then as for the tweet itself, I don't get what she is referring to. Of course she shouldn't have singled out a group in the way she did but I don't get what VJ is. So hence I am missing the point.

I feel sorry for all the fans and viewers of the show who were happy to have it back on the air and also for the rest of the cast and crew for losing their jobs over one stupid tweet.

VJ is Valerie Jarrett. She was an aide to Obama when he was president. She's black, and a common insult used by racists is that black people look like apes. So Roseanne was saying that Valerie looked like a member of the Muslim brotherhood and an ape had a baby. In 2013, Roseanne said Susan Rice (another black Obama official) was a "big man with swinging ape balls." ABC is being applauded for canceling her show, but many people have rightly pointed out that Roseanne has been saying vulgar things on Twitter for years. They didn't seem phased by her controversial persona when they revived her show, but the backlash was so swift from her latest tweet that they could no longer overlook her bigoted posts.

Aside from Trump supporters, who says it's wrong for you to call these people blithering idiots? If they're spewing racist bullshit and treating a bully like Trump as a victim, they're most certainly blithering idiots. I don't believe all Trump voters are bad people, but he certainly attracts a large segment of ignorant, vile scumbags who have no regard for humanity.

It doesn't take much time to type a message, but it's not exactly the same as blurting out something.

Maybe she thought ABC would giver her a pass since they overlooked the racist stuff she said before when they revived her show.

It sounded like she was trying to make the show more PC, and that clashed with Roseanne's vision for the show. Could it be that she was loosing the creative control she wanted, and thus didn't want to do the show anymore? There was also talk of making the show less political and more family oriented, but they had already done that after the first two episodes this season. But yes, it does seem strange that she would make such a blatant derogatory tweet and not expect consequences.

I saw a made for TV movie many years ago covering the behind the scenes stories of how Roseanne came to air. Ms Barr was shown to be very difficult, so much so that the producers contemplated dropping her from the show before the first episode was broadcast and rewriting the series with Laurie Metcalf as the central character.

Joe Rogan said he spoke with Roseanne, and she said the shooting schedule for the revival was brutal. Maybe that had something to do with it.
