Hey!

1. What is your favourite thing about people from N Ireland?

2. Are you proud to be from here?

3. Who would you choose if you had to save Celine Dion or Alexis from the Titanic?

4. Does any part of your personality match Alexis’?

Thanks for your answer but the other part of my question was if you were to meet her what question would you like to ask her?
Oops. I missed that bit. I don't really know, I have read so much, and watched so much about her. I would need to think about that.
Even Claire? I recall when said on the Steps thread that Lee Latchford Evans used to go to the same gym as me, I was informed that everyone on here hates Claire.
Yes, even Claire. Claire at times can be a bit of a moan, and when she's not in a good place everyone knows. However she's been amazing this time around from the comeback in 2017. She seems to have been much more positive and 100% there for Steps and gets it now. For a while I think she wanted to be done with it and didn't want to do the dancing and stuff and probably wanted to different music etc. She can now do that while being in Steps. One seems to facilitate the other. She just seems much happier and confident in what she's doing now. And she looks great too doing it. It wouldn't be Steps without Claire, her voice is so important. However I feel that way about all of the members. The band wouldn't work at all with any one of them not involved.

Hey :)
1. I think my favourite thing about people from Northern Ireland is their sense of humour.

2. Yes I am proud to be from the north of Ireland. I love being Irish.

3. Hahaha.... I'd have to save them both. But I would make them pay a premium for space in my dingy... And both those ladies could pay a hefty premium. I'd be set for life.

4. I can be a right bitch when crossed, but I have always thought it's better to bark loudly than to have to bite. I am not crazy or vindictive like her but I am quick with my mouth.

A few more questions for you @Alexis, if I may:
  1. What would your perfect vacation look like?
  2. If you could give everyone just one piece of advice, what would it be?
  3. What’s getting worse for you as you get older and what is getting better?

1. I have already had a few perfect vacations. I don't need a lot of adventure or fuss. I like to unwind, with my best friends, just chill in a hotel or villa, enjoy the beach and scenery and eat at some nice restaurants. I don't ever want to do much, just chill, eat and drink and relax. I can't wait to be able to do that again. I like city breaks too but a nice beach holiday where I just get to chill is always going to win.

2. Love yourself.

3. As I get older my self confidence and self assurance has gotten better and I am much more generally happy in my own skin and with myself. My tiredness is getting worse. I am always tired now. On days off I can sleep for 14 hours easily.

Hello Alexis,

What was your favourite season for Joan Collins as the iconic Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan in DYNASTY? I very much doubt the Colorado saga would have lasted as long as it did in the eighties without super bitch Alexis. She really did make the show her own, just like J.R. in DALLAS and Angela in FALCON CREST. Do you agree?

@Alexis, thank you for all your answers this week, I've enjoyed reading them. I have a few final questions for you:
  1. What were some of the happiest times of your life so far?
  2. What is something you’re interested in that most people wouldn’t expect?
  3. What wrong assumptions do people make about you?

Hi @Alexis
Thank you for answering my questions. I am really glad to hear that your cousin is cancer free and is on the road to recovering her strength. :ch:

It sounds like you've got a really important job. But it must be tough in covid-19 times as you never know who might leave us early and I think you do get attached to people from work too.

Impressive Joan Collins collection. I can recommend you to get her movie "The Road to Hong Kong" if you haven't watched it already. It was great fun! :)

Great advice regarding how you should love yourself and also take care of yourself too when caring for a loved one with dementia.

I have a couple of book questions.

1. Who is your favorite author?
2. Which is the best book you've ever read?
3. Which book made the biggest impression on you?

and finally some tv questions inspired by your love of gotic horror,

4. Do you like vampire shows?
5. Have you watched Buffy the vampire slayer?

Oh and a Joan Collins question too.

6. Which is your favorite movie with Joan Collins?

finally a music question.

7. Favorite songs with:
Celine Dion?
Madonna?
Kylie Minogue?
Steps?
Lady Gaga?

That's all.

Take care,
Love:
Karin.

@Alexis I am also a huge Steps fan, have you seen them live? Also, what are your top 3 Steps songs?
Hi.. Yes I saw their last tour both nights in Belfast. After the first show I went straight home and managed to get tickets for the next show and I ended ended getting better/closer seats. They were amazing. I have my tickets for next year too, hopefully it goes ahead. I would even like to do a meet and greet.
My tope three songs? That's a hard one! I pretty much love everything. I would say my favourites change often though, depending on mood. You'll Be Sorry has always been one of my favourites. Deeper Shade of Blue also and maybe Heartbeat. I will go for those at the minute. I always felt like Deeper Shade of Blue and You'll Be Sorry were linked.

Hey Karin... Thanks for the questions. I will get stuck in...
1. I would say at the minute my favourite author would be Ira Levin. He wrote, The Stepford Wives, Rosemary's Baby, A Kiss Before Dying etc. Lot's of his books have been turned into films. I love his way of writing. It's short and snappy, and very real. It's always a pleasure to read.

2. I don't know about the best book I have ever read. I would say my favourite book I have ever read was Interview With The Vampire. It's such a sad, tragic, gothic story. I loved Anne Rice too, but then her books became more and more silly.

3. George Orwell's Animal Farm and 1984 both left a big impression on me and really made me think.

4. I dont really like Vampire shows that much weirdly. I liked True Blood for the first few seasons then it just got really silly. I am hopeful of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicals which seemed to have found a network to produce it. It would need to be an epic and expansive show though, with like the scope of Game Of Thrones. Otherwise it just wouldn't work. I didn't watch The Vampire Diaries.

5. I was aware of Buffy when it was on, but for some reason it never clicked for me. Friends loved it, I just couldn't get into despite liking Vampires and being a fan of Sarah Michelle Geller.

6. My favourite Joan Collins movie is probably Sea Wife. She's very good in that, and it has none of her glamour or affectations which she later became known for. I am also fond of Land of the Pharaohs.

7. Celine -Where Does My Heart Beat Now/If You Asked Me To. Early '90s Celine is my favourite.
Madonna - Nothing Really Matters/Nothing Fails. I can't decide at the moment.
Kylie - Better The Devil You Know/I Believe In You/Turn It Into Love/Dreams/ What Do I have To Do/What Kind of Fool/The One/Flower... I cant pick! I can not choose a favourite Kylie song.
Steps - You'll Be Sorry. I really think it's one if their best songs, despite the H lead and the awful video.
Lady Gaga - Dance In The Dark

I think my favourite season with Alexis is her first. Season two Alexis is a delicious character. I also love her in season six. And yes... She really kept the show going.

1. 2017 was a great time for me. I had a very positive and happy year, where I felt I could do anything. I managed to bag 6 tickets for my friends and I to see Celine in London that year. I saw Steps twice, had a couple of great holidays, I was seeing someone. It didn't last but it didn't end horribly either. I started a new job, got rid of a hideous manager. It was a good year, I was very happy. Outside of that I am happiest when I am with my best friends. We go on holiday together, do concerts together all of that. They are two gay guys and two gay girls. And we all make each other laugh so much.

2. WWII and all the things that lead to it and happened during it. I love documentaries on the second world war. I also like DIY and don't mind building flatpack stuff. I find it relaxing.

3. That I am younger than I am.

No I did not enjoy my school days at all. I was a closeted gay kid in a Catholic high school. I was a walking sin. I was picked on for speaking correctly. I had a small group of close friends and they were great but most of the time I hated being at school. Everything about me that I like and that others have since liked about me was a problem at school. I was made to suppress my real self and feel that I wasn't right or normal. Teachers then could be so cruel too, in a way that wouldn't fly now. I think I learned to defend myself by talking back and being as insulting or cutting as I could be. After a while I was picked on less, I think for fear of being made a fool of.

I do have a tattoo... I wish I didnt.

I have so many favourite films. I love films, but I don't think I can pick a true favourite. There are just two many and I love stuff from the 1930s up to now. At the minute Leave Her To Heaven is on my mind.

Hmmmm, I would say I am an ok singer. I can sing in tune but I haven't really sang properly in years. I was in the choir in primary and secondary school. (Of course I was!) And I sang a couple of solos in Assembly and school plays.

1. Yea, I have but I don't think I could have a child. I have 10 nieces and nephews and that's plenty and enough.

2. I would have to say paella. I eat a lot of seafood in Spain.

3. Yes, I'm single but allergic to pork.

Thanks for the reply @Alexis

Seawife is an interesting choice for a Joan Collins movie. Also it had Richard Burton in it that doesn't hurt. I think my favorite is Rally Around the Flag Boys. It was also in the same movie collection so I am sure you have seen it. ;)

I didn't know you were a fan of Sarah Michelle Gellar.:)
Now I'm curious to know what's your favorite SMG movie?
