At some awards show the other day, Jane Fonda, 87, gave an acceptance speech, claiming (as she always does in her smug, back-of-the-throat, pseudo-ethereal tone as she explains to you how the world works) that "'Woke' only means you care about other people!"
Of course, Woke-ism was used to destroy the Left, to fuel the Right, and Woke's continued supporters in fact care about
nobody. That's almost the point.
Not that I was particularly surprised by her commentary.
To think I used to be something of a fan, and even defended her over the North Vietnam anti-aircraft gun photo session, because she'd "apologized" for it. And seemed to apologize for, more or less, the correct reasons.
But she won't be around long. And, given the state of the world (which Biden's team is more responsible for even than Trump's -- at least, so far)
most of us may not be around for long.
