Remember I told you all about the blind man I work with? He's just told me this morning that there is a TWO YEAR WAIT for guide dogs due to a mixture of Brexit and Coronavirus. This is a disgrace. He will have to go back to navigating the city centre of Belfast with just his stick, once the dog retires (Guide Dogs only work until they are 10). I could scream.

During the referendum campaign, Boris Johnson said "We could strike free trade deals with America”. When Donald Trump visited the UK Johnson said "We're going to do a fantastic deal". He later said the UK was "First in line to do a great free trade deal with the United States." All of this was a lie. This week when he went to the USA he had to admit that a free trade deal was nowhere near being agreed. When challenged he lied saying “I said nothing on that" and "I’ve always thought that a free trade deal with the US would be difficult."

This is apparently old news, but it's just come to my attention (through a petition I was sent) that the Government has "reconsidered its policy" on animal testing for cosmetics.
The long and short of it is that their decision opens the door to animal testing for cosmetics in the UK for the first time since 1998.
I'm still processing how retrogressive and damaging this is.

This makes me both ill and extremely angry. There is NO need for this and it makes me despise Boris Johnson and his disgusting government more than I already do.
I will happily hold the make up or whatever drug it is an insert it painfully into each and every one of them.

I'd not heard about this before but I would bet money that someone along the line a director of a cosmetic company has made a donation to the Tory Party and this is quid pro quo for money given to the most corrupt UK government in recent history.
Also this is what Brexit was really all about, i.e. help big business to get rid on ethical EU regulations. Needless to say the EU banned the barbaric practice of testing cosmetics on animals many years ago.
Here's my idea to protect animals: test cosmetics on Tory Party members and people who vote to keep these wicked people in power.

Yes. It's yet another change that's motivated purely by money. They're happy to overlook suffering and poor quality of life, just as long as it has a positive impact on their finances.
