it's my favorite series. Dana Delany was beyond brilliant in the leading role, although the whole cast was excellent. The writing is sincere, beautifully humane and empathetic, its very cinematic in look, and the show is often heartrendingly moving. Admittedly, season 3 sort of meanders, and 4 gets a little getting used to (what with Delany's character having a major attitude shift toward bitterness and alcoholism post-Vietnam) until you realize that it tried (in an abbreviated season) to show all the post-war Emotional fall-out and when you realize that, it becomes one of TV's finest ever hours. It's sensational, and I don't think any other show can really touch it.
