Val should’ve been allowed to be present in her child’s life a lot more than she was. That’s why I  always suspected there was more to it that we were never told and therefore left to our imagination. Dallas did this very well in those early years. Was there something else that had happened between J.R. and Val? It always felt to me that the tension between them ran deeper than just ordinary family resentment.</p></blockquote><p></p>
