Who needs these typical, shallow TV documentaries
The problem with celebrity documentaries in the age of streamers is that they are inevitably "authorized" by the estate if not the celebrities themselves. That renders them little more than puff pieces. The Prince estate killed what was said to be a raw look at his life by refusing to allow any of his music to be used. (Seems likely that would have fallen under "fair use" exclusion to Copyright but likely that Netflix didn't want to deal with the legal ramifications.) In exchange for access and cooperation, documentarians trade away objectivity and insight.
And then all we get are the celebrities cronies or randos offering empty but effusive statements about how world shaking the subject was.
