If it fails, it won't be from lack of promotion. :brick:

I catch up on some ABC shows like General Hospital via Xfinity On Demand, and they must air a promo for this show during every.single.commercial.break. Hit me over the head with it, why don't you, ABC??? [/rant] :crazyme:

It looks good and it's great to see Kiefer in another TV show, but I will wait and see how this develops. If it's going to end up being like any other of these ABC soaps I am probably not going to watch it. I don't know if it's the Network interfering, but a lot of their shows start out quite promising and then go down the drain pretty fast.

I sure hope it doesn't go down the drain like many ABC's shows do. I read that the Pilot is really great....and I am hoping that with Kiefer as an executive producer that will help to maintain the quality of the show.

Here's to hoping.....

YAY!!!! :jum::jumper::giddy::gotcha::jolly:

The last time I was this excited about a new show was Aquarius...and that was a huge flop to me at least...I never even finished the 2 hour pilot.

I got up this morning and just had to watch. I was not disappointed. This looks like it is going to be a brilliant drama and if it keeps it's quality the same as the pilot...it's gonna be outstanding.

This is the type of series that was just made for Kiefer. I just love the rest of the cast too.

I don't want to say anything more because I don't want to spoil it for anyone that is planning to watch it.

I will say this..if this came on with Netflix as a 22 episode premiere...I would sit and binge watch the entire season.

I love Washington/Political/Conspiracy dramas and this one had me on the edge of my seat.

Netflix Boards ‘Designated Survivor’ Outside North America

http://deadline.com/2016/09/netflix...national-rights-kiefer-sutherland-1201824621/

Hot on the heels of its North American premiere last night, Kiefer Sutherland starrerDesignated Survivor has gone up on Netflix’s platform worldwide. Deadline has confirmed that the streaming giant has inked a deal for international rights to the series from the Mark Gordon Company and ABC Studios.

:spinning:It's not on the German Netflix platform, yet (they're probably waiting for that damned dubbed version), but this increases the chances I am going to watch this a lot!

A very enjoyable start to what looks like a great show. One of the most daunting jobs to me has to be the POTUS, how anyone can just switch into that role is fascinating to watch, so I'm feeling good about how this show will tackle that.

Plus we have the whole attack to try and work out and will there be more?

Looking forward to getting stuck into this series.

That's ok Zach I am just happy that you will be able to watch it too!

I am glad you like it....when Kiefer read the script he said he could see where he would be for the next 10 years....I just hope he is right and the show doesn't go downhill.

The second episode was another beauty with a very powerful ending, I'm ready to accept Thomas Kirkman as the new President, though I'm not so sure about the congresswoman who happens to be the second Designated Survivor.

This really feels like it's going to be an awesome series.

I don't like her either and she is up to something I can just feel it. I love Hannah the FBI agent and Seth the speech writer and I am really enjoying Thomas Kirkman....I loved how he took down that Governor!

The ending was very powerful..... it reminded me of 9/11 and it brought tears to my eyes.

This really feels like it's going to be an awesome series.
I feel like I am watching a weekly mini movie! I am hoping this show stays on...I haven't loved a series this much in 2 episodes and gotten this involved with the characters so fast in a very long time.

Do you recognize this guy @Ome?

LeMonica Garrett...he played the Deputy Sheriff Cane on SOA :)

The opening of the third episode with the White House getting hacked was really exciting. I really believed Aaron was on the same side as Thomas, now with that ending, it changes everything – Or is that what the writers want us to believe.

I hope there isn’t too much focus on his son because I’m tired of those filler stories taking over the bigger picture in a show like this.

Another awesome episode for me. I thought Aaron was on Kirkman's side too but now I am finding it hard to believe that he is. We know now that the Senator who is the other Designated Survivor is not to be trusted. I think she got to Tyler and it was her that put it in his head to do the Eulogy. I do love the way Kirkman handles things like this...instead of getting mad he does Tyler a favor and tells him about his father. I like how level headed he is staying.

I hope there isn’t too much focus on his son because I’m tired of those filler stories taking over the bigger picture in a show like this.

I read somewhere that there would be focus both on Kirkman as President and his family..but I don't think it has been overdone so far as the family goes. Kirkman was feeling bad about Tyler and that was when he called for a family dinner.

Hell yeah I do

It set a record too! :dance1:

‘Designated Survivor’ Premiere Sets Live+7 Ratings Record
designated-survivor.jpg

The premiere of ABC’s Designated Survivor continued its strong showing in delayed viewing. After adding 5.3 million viewers in the first three days of playback — the biggest viewer Live+3 gain for a series opener since the debut of ABC’s How To Get Away With Murder in September 2014 — the Kiefer Sutherland drama has set a Live+ 7 record.

Designated Survivor, which received a full-season pickup yesterday, logged a 7.7 million viewer L+7 lift for its premiere, TV’s largest-ever total viewer L+7 increase forany single telecast on any network.

The ABC drama, from the Mark Gordon Co. and ABC Studios, eclipsed the previous record set by CBS’ flagship comedy The Big Bang Theory whose 12/17/15 telecast, in which Sheldon and Amy had sex for the first time, added 7.2 million viewers.Designated Survivor’s L+7 audience was 17.7 million, up from 10.0 million in L+SD.

In adults 18-40, Designated Survivor doubled its L+SD rating with a 100% L+7 lift to a 4.4 rating from a 2.2. After finishing tied with the Empire series debut in L+3 demo increase (1.4 rating), Designated Survivor pulled ahead. Its 2.2 L+7 18-49 gain was the biggest absolute playback lift for an new TV series debut in two years since ABC’sHow To Get Away With Murder (+2.3 rating).

Needless to say, Designated Survivor is the No. 1 gainer in TV playback for any new or returning series during Premiere Week so far in total viewers (+7.7 million) and adults 18-49 (+2.2 rating points), topping the L+7 gains of Big Bang (+5.7 million and +2.0 rating points on Monday).

Beyond the L+7 ratings, Designated Survivor has added an additional 0.55 rating points in Multiplatform + 7 Day viewing, bringing its MP+7 average to a 4.95 adults 18-49 rating.

I thought Aaron was on Kirkman's side too but now I am finding it hard to believe that he is.

I'm hoping this is a double red herring from the writers. I like Aaron and much prefer him on the side of Kirkman.
I like how level headed he is staying.

Here's hoping they keep this character as well grounded as they've introduced him.

I don't think it has been overdone so far as the family goes.

Oh no, it hasn't, I'm just hoping it doesn't become too much of a focus.
It set a record too!

Brilliant.

I like him too but I still feel he has something up his sleeve...but what? He can't go from Chief of Staff to any kind of higher position. Maybe they are trying to fool us into thinking that he is against Kirkman.

Here's hoping they keep this character as well grounded as they've introduced him.

Same here. I just love the way the show is taking him so far.

Oh no, it hasn't, I'm just hoping it doesn't become too much of a focus.

I agree with you on this but if done properly it shouldn't affect the show. I much prefer the bombing and Kirkman than stories about his family

I think I have asked you this before? Have you ever watched The West Wing? If you ever get a chance I recommend it highly.

I don't know why but this show is on for 2 weeks then off for a week and they are doing it again this week. This is one of the reasons I like to wait for the full season to watch most shows now.

It continues to be an awesome show and I just love the main characters. At times it does have moments of more in-tenseness than at other times but I don't think they could keep that up every single moment in the show.

I love the humanity that Thomas Kirkman has and the way he is handling the Presidency.

I felt so bad for him when the Navy Seal Comnander was killed in action.

I think MacLeish was involved in this and I can't wait until Hannah exposes him.
