Did Dynasty copy Dallas storylines?

Dallas was the first shoe to have the below storylines, then Dynasty followed:

• Multiple lives at risk for a cliffhanger - Southfork Fire vs La Mirage Fire
• Miscarriage after a fall - Pam vs Krystle
• Car accidents - Sue Ellen x 2 vs Fallon & Alexis
• Marriage & Divorce x 2 - JR & Sue Ellen vs Jeff & Fallon
• Father accused of murder/courtroom trial - Jock vs Blake
• Shooting of main male character in a cliffhanger - J.R vs Blake
• Murder accusation via housefire (historical storyline) - Clayton vs Blake
• Introduction of a cousin character in a later season not previously mentioned - Jack/Jamie vs Lesley
• Classic 50's Hollywood male actor introduced as a guest star - Howard Keel vs Rock Hudson
• Character running for politics - Bobby vs Blake/Alexis
• Female character sleeping with someone who works for the family - Lucy vs Fallon

It's difficult to do a drama, or a melodrama (i.e., soap) without some of those things. Although Fallon and Pam being tossed into a lake in the first hour of both shows was notable.

Frankly, while there were some early plot points DYNASTY seemed to borrow, deliberately or not, it got into more problems when it branched out in its own direction.

Really, the early parallels between DYNASTY and FALCON CREST were more pronounced.

Dynasty had Dale Robertson first, but Dallas had the insipidly smug publisher Alex Ward before he somehow became a king on Dynasty..
