Did the cast like Nicollette Sheridan?

Sheridan just has that icky, vampiric female Scorpio thing that makes people go "ugh". (Think Julia Roberts, Calista Flockhart, Megyn Kelly, Caitlin Jenner, Tracey Scoggins, Veronica Hamel, etc...).

Yes, there are icky Scorpio males, too, with their distinctively rat-boy characteristics (Ike Turner, Diddy, Manson...blahblahblah)

So she can't help it.

I think Nicolette provided an interesting and unique element that benefited the show once the show course corrected her character in season 9 and made her a part of an ensemble vs the main focus.

She had natural comic timing, and writers usually wrote to that instead of showcasing her dramatic abilities. Knots landing provided her with an actual character that wasn't comic relief, nor a obstacle unlike Desperate Housewives and Dynasty.

In fact, her character on Desperate Housewives was never supposed to be as prominent as she became... fans and the network made Marc Cherry feature her more then he had wanted to. Which explains why Edie was usually the comic relief instead of an actual character the first few seasons (until Marcia Cross went on maternity leave and then the writers had to write for her).
