Yeah, that is... concerning.

Actually, that goes back to something that disappointed me about Dolly. She appeared in a video to promote the vaccine, and said "I just want to say to all of you cowards out there, 'don't be such a chicken squat.'" Personally, I never cared whether or not a person chose to get the vaccine. I always figured that was their business (the misinformation about the vaccine from the government and their "experts" is another story). However, I hated when people would try to coerce others into taking it.

Dolly also changed the lyrics to "Jolene" for the occasion, which I also cringed at:

Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine. I'm begging of you please, don't hesitate. Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine. Cause' once you're dead, then that's a bit too late."

Of course, the last words of her big-pharma rendition hit different now.

I can cut Dolly -- and others -- some slack for that early stuff. They didn't know, and Dolly was trying to be a "come on, guys!" cheerleader with benign intent. Yes, she may, in retrospect, have made a mistake.

This is the kind of reaction that the passings of Bob Hope, Lucy and maybe Kate Hepburn triggered; national mourning of a 'universally' beloved figure. In the age of divisive culture, fractured media and declining celebrity culture, there's virtually no one that 'everyone' loves.

Yes. I'm no fan, but the man was enshrined as some kind of national monument during his final years. He's the only entertainer other than Dolly to warrant flags being flown at half mast.

Dolly was a class act and her legacy will be kindness and generosity. When she heard that one of her Dollywood employees couldn't afford his mother's funeral, she paid for the funeral and the travel expenses for anyone in the family who wanted to attend the funeral.

It's creepy, but some people love pushing an agenda onto deceased celebrities to suit their needs. Zionists have done the same thing with Charlie Kirk for the past year.

As I've been reading about Dolly's life this last week, I am more
And more struck by her true generous spirit and intelligence. I've even watched some episodes of The Porter Wagoner show, and I was surprised that I genuinely enjoyed it and Dolly's presence. Apparently, after she left Wagoner sued her for 3 million and 15% of all he r future earnings. They settled out of court with her paying him 1 million. Despite that, when years later Wagoner was in serious financial debt she bailed
Him out very generously and was at his side when he died.
When making the movie Steel Magnolias the director was Apparently not
nice to her, telling her she couldn't act. Her response was perfect. Instead of insulting him she said something along the lines of, "No, I can't. I'm not an actress. You hired me because I'm a personality. It's your job as director to make it look like I'm acting." By the time the movie
Was done, they were on good terms.
These stories, along with many others I've read, inspired me. She was so clever and so loving and forgiving, she makes me want to be a better person.
