DVD/BR players are manufactured to work in all regions. However the region code is set by default to those regions where they're sold (you have 2). You can google for your player and see whether your player can be set to Region 1 or all regions (0 or 9). You usually do it with your remote control and a code. It is legal!

Most players can be set even easier:
  1. Power on.
  2. Open tray.
  3. Push the info on remote once (with supplied remote). You will see numbers.
  4. Press 9 for multi-region. Keep trying until you see the number 9 appears.
  5. Power off.
  6. Power on.
Actually most players are now region free since the start dates for new films on BR/DVD in international territories are closer to each other than they were 10 or 20 years ago.
And thanks for your recommendations about Swedish films and TV series!

I've tried a few of these hacks, but none of them work. Not this one either.

Tell me something, @Emelee: What are the last five songs, or albums, you listened to?
Tell me something else, Emelee: What are the last five songs, or albums, you bought or downloaded?

Well, the first one was easy. As Toni asked about my favourite Cher song, I started listening to her on Spotify. Love and Understanding, All I Really Want To Do, Shoop Shoop Song, Just Like Jesse James & If I Could Turn Back Time.
I don't really listen to albums anymore (at least not often). I have my self-made playlists on Spotify.

I don't buy much physical albums anymore. I buy albums that I absolutely love or albums sold by artists after their concerts (which they also sign for each buyer). Therefore, my last purchased albums should be these:
Linnea Henriksson - Linnea Henriksson (LP) - signed
Weeping Willows - Snowflakes (EP) - signed
Lisa Miskovsky - Home (EP) - signed
Vera Vinter - Tiden har börjat om (LP) - signed
Billie Eilish - When We Fall Asleep Where Do We Go? (CD)

Hi B! :yo:

I loved all the creative subjects. Art, Home & Consumer studies, Music & Crafts.
But Mathemathics remain my arch-enemy.

You absolutely should see all of Sweden. Stockholm is beautiful, but there's so much more. The second biggest city, Gothenburg, is very different from Stockholm in every single way. I'd also recommend Visby, Kiruna, Sunne and Marstrand. If you go to those 5 cities, you've gotten the hang of Sweden as they are very different from each other. We have many beautiful sites, but if you want to get to know Sweden, you'd have to go to very different places.
thank you for your reply, I havent heard of some of those places so will google them

Im an Ingrid Bergman fan and i have always wanted to visit Fjällbacka, as it was close to the island her husband owned called Danholmen and there is a statue/bust of her in the town as she did a lot for the local community, I know thats its about a 90 mins plus drive to Gothenberg

Maybe one day!!!

Hey @Emelee, I have a few more questions for you today:
  1. What is the best advice you have ever received?
  2. Who is the most famous person you have met and what did you think of them?
  3. What person, not including your parents, has had the biggest positive influence on your life?

Those are 3 tough questions! Challenge accepted.

1. Hmmmm.... I am usually the smart and logical one, providing myself with the Grade A advice. But sometimes my best friend comes with a few excellent bits as well. She's very good at making me look at the big picture when I am in doubt. Light-hearted advice such as "who cares?" can be really helpful at times. So when she tells me to go for something, I listen. She's one helluva good friend.

2. Living so far from Stockholm, I don't often meet famous people. And I've only ever met Swedish celebrities. But since I have met my biggest sports idol, Stefan Lövgren, I will say him. I've met him 3 times, having traveled just to watch him play handball. He's a genuinly nice and funny man.

3. Easy - my best friend, mentioned in answer 1. Best influence I could ever ask for. She has made me a better and more social person.

You should. Just go in summer! The west coast in winter isn't a pretty sight. Cold, dark, windy and rainy. Northern Sweden is the place to be in winter time.

Hello Emelee,

I'm curious are you a fan of your native Swedish Abba's music? If so have you a particular favourite song? They were and still are juggernauts.

Have a nice day!

I wouldn't call myself a fan, but I like their music. My favourite song is Lay All Your Love On Me. :love4:

Thanks for answering my questions, I have a few more for you today:
  1. If there was an Olympics for everyday activities, what activity would you have a good chance at winning a medal in?
  2. What are some accomplishments that you are really proud of?
  3. What’s the best thing that has happened to you this year?

Riddle me this, @Emelee: what, if any, programmes/films/music etc have you been introduced to by Soap Talk or Telly Chat or Wentworth Global or whatever we're calling this week? (If I recall correctly, you're the reason I have a Lykke Li album in my collection so thanks for that!)

Thanks for your Qs!

1. I struggle to come up with anything I'm actually good at. Thinking thinking thinking... Thinking some more.

Thinking.......

I'm somewhat good at writing fast in a still very readable handwriting.

2. I'm not so sure if I have accomplished anything that I'm proud of. Graduating University wasn't tough. I've spent my life mostly just going with the flow, so I wouldn't say I'm proud of anything I've accomplished. Yet. I probably still have time to accomplish something tough.

3. Getting an apartment, my official graduation confirmed and a full-time job that I love. 2020 has been horrible in many ways, but there have been highlights as well.

Glad to hear!!

I have been introduced to so much thanks to SC/TT!!! Where do I even begin??? I would say Ome's "Top 10" and "Member's Chosen..." threads in the music section has introduced me to ridiculously much. Thanks to all of you who have participated over the years with all your nominations!!!!! One artist especially that I need to mention is Peter Gabriel. I was quite unfamiliar with his music until we did a Top 10 of his music.

I love taking center stage, so I am enjoying this. :)

1) Sad. We proud ourselves being equal, but still no female leader. But then again, as long as S are in charge, I won't complain. It could be much worse, which it will probably get.
2) LOL. I think it's great that profits go to kids in sporting clubs. And I think it can be cozy to play the evening before Christmas. But that's about it. I miss the fun times with Loket and the prizes you could win back in the 90s. Cat food, motor oil and those types of prizes. That was hilarious.
3) Many many many times. I live quite far up.
4) I saw her live last year. She's a true professional with such an amazing voice. I also like that she's got great self-distance and can joke about herself and not be timid. I don't listen much to her though. Not really my type of music. But I understand why she's so huge.
5) I think it's generally good. We can't lock people in their homes for a year or more. We have to learn to co-exist with the virus and live with it for some time. Follow the guidelines! There's been too much breaking them and younger people not giving a da*n. I work in a school, so I see pupils hugging and sitting on each other and acting like they've never heard of the virus. The hallways are always crowded. Covid-19 hasn't hit this town hard, yet.
6) The mystery about her first drew me in - a Swedish icon, known around the world, and still a mystery. Then I saw her in a movie and was captivated. :)

Thank you for your questions!

I agree with you in regards to not having had a female prime minister yet.
I think our best candidate for the job was sadly murdered on 9/11. :(

I was pleasantly surprised to read that you had seen Carola live last year! :danc:

I'm supposed to start reading the Greta Garbo novel. I just got it. I also enjoyed her in Queen Christina. She had that special something, star quality, charisma or call it what you want, so I can see she became a huge movie star.

I have a couple of TV related questions for you:

1) Which of the Swedish soaps Varuhuset, Rederiet or Tre Kronor is your favorite and why?
2) Have you ever watched Knots Landing?
If yes what did you think of it?

Oh and congratulations on getting your new apartment and steady employment. I am happy for you! :)

Im a girl who loves to travel so will ask If i return to Sweden, what are the top 5 cities i should visit?

Thanks
BF x

You're welcome BF. I hope that you will visit us in our hometown the next time you come to Sweden! :pals:
You might be able to combine that with the West coast. I definitely think you should go to Fjällbacka. I think I might have visited it when I was a teenager. If memory serves me there were lots of white tree houses, a bit similar to Norway's south coast really.

Anna Lindh would have been perfect. But I also like Margot Wallström and possibly Magdalena Andersson. But... Just a huge NO to someone like KD's Ebba Busch or Sara Skyttedal.

1. Rederiet or Varuhuset, I'm not sure that I can decide. Both excellent. I watched most Swedish soaps. I have half of all seasons of Rederiet on dvd and the entire collection of Varuhuset.

You know what, I choose Rederiet.

2. Yes, I have. Far from all though. Entire season 1, most of season 2. Then a few episodes after that. I didn't like it as much as Dallas & Dynasty though.

Hi again Emelee :)

I admire you being a teacher, that's a great job to have. Which subject do you teach?

If someone made a film of your life which actress would play you?

If you had to give up for one month either the TV, music or books, which would you choose keep?

Finally, a couple of questions for Halloween. Do you believe in ghosts?

Are you a fan of horror films?

Are you a lesbian?

Also, if you're not a lesbian, how much lesbian would you be with Victoria Principal?

And yes, I just googled "Victoria Principal boobs" to find this picture.

Also will you change your username to "EmeleeLesbian4VictoriaPrincipalWhoIs29YearsOld#PrincipalSecret4everFuckYouSnarky"?
