A few months ago I finished Season 6 of "E.R." after stopping and resuming it several times through a couple of years. I liked it a lot, though it gave me the impression that it was a "season of transition" (I had it too after watching the previous season).
- The worst thing: possibly wasting the talent of Julianna Margulies, among others, like Eriq La Salle, Laura Innes, & Michael Michele. I wonder if that was because Julianna was
committed forced to stay for one more year. Her pregnancy and her bonding with Dr. Hot (aka Goran Visnjic, who matched with her because they shared the same eyeliner...?), made no sense and felt like filler, especially knowing who will be waiting for her in the penultimate episode of the season. The worst stuff goes to Dr. Weaver, who seems to have become a recurring instead. Shame the writers.
- The best thing: there are a few. First, Carter´s (slightly soapy) breakdown and addiction that leads to the season finale, though this means that a certain new blonde character just became a plot device. The actor is good and his material is much better than what they gave him in the beginning, when Carter was unbearable. Secondly, the relationship between Greene and Corday, that evolves sweetly but realistically, with their parents thrown in with their own meaningful subplots.
- The most promising: Maura Tierney as Lockhart is a hoot, a multilayered character since the beginning, although I have loved Tierney in everything. I´m sure Dr. Hot will become something more than Clooney´s nice guy version, the actor has been quite good in other roles and comes across as very likeable.
I have enjoyed the unexpected guest appearances of actors like Anton Yelchin, who debuted here giving an amazing performance.
Well, next year, probably on January, I will return to E.R. (hopefully not in real life too). Anyone can say without spoilers what I can expect from Season 7? (No spoilers, please)
PS: Miss Piggy loves this show now because... she was mentioned in one episode!!!

RIP Anton Yelchin
