Fall 2017 - what will you be watching?

Now that the dust has settled on the upfront presentations, what series have stood out for you as ones to watch this Fall? So far, I've four on my list:

Star Trek: Discovery - I've never actually watched any previous Star Trek TV series but I've enjoyed the recent films so I thought I'd give this a go. Plus it'll be good to join a series from the beginning and maybe move on to watch the originals if this is good.

Dynasty - as discussed at length in the Dynasty forum, I'll be watching this out of curiousity.

Law and Order: True Crime - The Menendez Murders - this is clearly NBC jumping on the true crime bandwagon that was kicked off by Making A Murderer / American Crime Story but it's only 8 episodes and stars the great Edie Falco, so I'll be watching.

The Orville - I don't watch many network comedies but the trailer caught my attention so I'll give this a go.

I'm definitely looking forward to the new Star Trek.



It will be interesting to read your take on the shoe, especially seeing as you're not familiar with the rest of the franchise

Dynasty

I'm also looking forward to Dynasty, but I'm unsure what I will make of it. The trailer didn't exactly excite me.


I'm also curious about The Good Doctor - A young surgeon with Savant syndrome is recruited into the pediatric surgical unit of a prestigious hospital. The question will arise: Can a person who doesn’t have the ability to relate to people actually save their lives?

There's a good chance we'll get most of these.

I'm something of a Trekkie so I'll be watching both Discovery and Orville given the chance. And Dynasty - out of curiosity for me as well.

Young Sheldon is probably the one most likely to be seen given the huge popularity of Big Bang here. It sounds like a silly idea but Jim Parsons doing the voiceover might save it.

Jim Parsons is definitely a must for this series to have a chance. Sheldon Cooper without Jim Parsons is like summer without sunshine.
