Could you've envisaged George as Ben, had he not played Blake in the pilot 'Oil' before the reshoot with John Forsythe. Since the A-TEAM didn't finish until March '87 there would have been no Ben, until DYNASTY season 8. I know George and Joan did not see eye to eye. Nonetheless his casting might have perked up ratings, all things considered. Behind the scenes stuff would probably have escalated though.

Alexis: "Now, in case you've forgotten, I run this company and I'm sick and tired of you using my office, cancelling my orders and threatening my son. I am the Chief Executive of this company."

Ben: "A Chief Executive who is also trying to run a newspaper, become Santa Claus to every charity in Denver and play ring-around-the-rosy with her ex-husband. Do everything, in fact, except run this company."
