What kind or how much of a storyline would that be?
It seems that several (many? all?) Dallas fans here have always interpreted their on-screen relationship as "more than friends" therefore I'm not sure if a confirmation would have elevated the Marinos Shipping plot.
If the guys in Hitchcock's ROPE would have said "and by the way we're totally gay" then we wouldn't talk about that film anymore. Sometimes, the suggestion can be more powerful, imo. It gives the characters and their on-screen interaction a certain je ne sais quoi.

Yes, and I don't think you have to be hypothetically homophobic to think that a hypothetical "lesbian storyline" between two enigmatic outsiders with no emotional attachment to the show's central characters at a time when any depiction of gay relationships on US TV was limited to a brotherly pat on the back was maybe not the greatest idea.

Actually, they should be called "bi" (if that exists) because they slept with men too.
Unless Marinos expected them to go "all the way" which would make Grace and Angelica straight4pay, which is funny if the actors played it gay4pay (albeit unconfirmed).

I tried to read this sentence out loud in one breath. I really should quit smoking!

I have a fondness for nicotine lozenges, but I overdo them -- leaving me feeling decimated and suddenly losing my until-19-months-ago luxurious hair.

The aptly-named GUNS OF WILL SONNETT suggest Rambo and his Dack could not yet afford a sock in 1969. Not that I looked, because that would have been weird.

I assume he just didn't find Walter Brennan all that attractive.

OMG -- it's like you're still stuck in the '70s!

Actually, I was just an (adorable) little baby in the 70s. Oh and you should take a look at the gay appls. and you might change your mind as soon as you say "straight curious"!

And if gay sex wasn't suitable for American eighties mainstream TV then Angelica and Grace's "officially lesbian" relationship would be just...there, sort of like explaining a joke.
Not that the heterosexual sex scenes were particularly explicit. Only kissing with lips, lingerie underneath a fur coat (ta-daaa!) and that's it.

Not-yet-Fallon Randall giving Miles Colby a massage is probably the hottest thing they've ever shown in 80s American soaps.
Precisely because this hint was given, many/all fans are talking about it. And that's perfectly legitimate. Many men (myself included) simply find both women very "hot"—and also the idea that they could have had a relationship that went beyond friendship.

Whether a fully developed lesbian storyline between the two would actually have come across as "a joke" in the context of the time remains speculation. Likewise, one could speculate that it could have been something daring or innovative.

When I said "explaining the joke" I didn't mean that the hypothetical lesbian relationship itself would be a joke. It's more like saying "to give redundant information that has no chance to improve anything" - whatever needed to be improved (it shouldn't have been a dream, maybe that's an interesting angle for a discussion!).

The funny thing about Erin Jones and Meredith Baxter in FALCON CREST is that it also had this air of being "something else" despite the fact that they were sisters.
I don't even remember if they shared any scenes. There were so many explosions it was hard to keep track of who died and who didn't and whodunit.

There were A LOT of sex innuendos in their relationship! Mainly, they had breakfast together in their hotel suite, Angie always touching Grace here or there, their emotional reaction in Grace´s death scene and so on. Actually, they should be called "bi" (if that exists) because they slept with men too.

Angie: "Scissors time, Grace darling?"
Grace: "Always"
I was seventeen and I didn't need subtitles or drawings to understand Anjelica and Grace subliminal relationship. Glances were clear enough...
