I got an award today for 25 years on the forums. It is hard to believe it has been that long. I first joined when I was 13 y/o on May 23, 2001, having been a fan since age 10 in November 1998. I was flipping the channels and was shocked to see Barbara Carrera, who I remembered from my fave 007 movie Never Say Never Again. I then saw Larry Hagman and remembered him from reruns of I Dream of Jeannie. I began watching every week night at 6 on TNN. It quickly became my favorite show of all time. It inspired me to want to write for TV during high school, but nothing came of it. When I had a keyboarding class the spring semester of 7th grade in 2001, I had access to internet and decided to look up Dallas. I found Ultimate Dallas and the forums. My parents got our first computer in April that year, and looked at the forums in more depth. I finally joined this day that year, and I had no idea I would still be around all this time later. What is your tale?

I joined just a matter of months after you. I had recently bought my first PC and the first thing I ever put into a search engine was "Knots Landing". This led me to KnotsLanding.Net which was at that time a sister site to Ultimate Dallas and linked to a common forum.

I'm not sure when I joined the old Soapchat, any sense of continuity was lost with the big crash. I'd guess it was around 2005, as the forum was pretty well established by the time I joined. For years, I tended to only pop on randomly and briefly. Compared to other forums I belonged to, SC was weirdly hostile. It wasn't until the leadup to the TNT show that I became consistently active. (And those years were hardly less hostile.)

My God! We all seem to be children of the same mum! I also used my first minute on the internet (at my new job) to google "Dallas" and found Ultimate Dallas and a bilingual (translated by the primitive Google translator, I guess) site called "Big Dallas". It didn´t take me too long to find the forum and join it, in early 2000s.

This one was my obvious inspiration to create soon my still active "Supersoaps" site, then called "Dallas Universe / Mundo Dallas". My next goal was getting a proper episode list, hence I now have those lists on Supersoaps in several languages. Then came my fanfic "Ewing Empire" and my former nick "Pam´s Twin Sister"... Those good old times...

I was watching Soapnet since October 2004 in college and finally did enough Google searching to discover this place in 2005. I think that the amazing wealth of information between the forum and the website helped me become a super fan, so thanks to everyone really.

Back in the 1990s, shortly after I first go online, I used to take part in Dallas discussions on Usenet, I think the group was called alt.tv.dallas. The discussions there were great but not moderated so periodically, someone would just post obscenities to disrupt everything. Someone on there suggested having discussions on The Oil Baron's Club instead, which was an early name for this forum so I started posting on here. I think it was around the late 1990s.
