Neil turned out to be the sole survivor, and while in recovery, he began brainstorming the perfect scheme to assume Jock's life and take what he felt he was deprived of. How would you have explained this mysterious character's background?

Interesting idea .... but would Bobby have found out about this earlier when he was searching for the helicopter?

I was thinking Neil/Wes would have admitted it himself when his conscience eventually got to him. I felt it could have led to a gradual redemption. I think a Ewing uncle would have helped fill in Jock's void in certain places.

I think Parmalee should have been Jock. I was in favor of a recast, since I don't think the series was ever as good without Jock
My objection is that if WP was Jock, he wouldn't have been so secretive at first.
Jock would have returned to SF, reassumed his place and displaced Clayton, who was indeed an interloper (and more) as JR described

That's easier said than done. Jock was legally declared dead. And they're supposed to just accept this man who doesn't look like Jock as the head of the household?
