Jane's adopted son Michael Reagan has died.

Michael who appeared in the Freilich years died of cancer aged 80, earlier this month:

Sad news for the Reagan and Wyman families. It was no secret that Jane was a Third Order Dominican, I remember reading this at the time of her death and that she was buried wearing a Dominican nun's habit.

It always sounded like he was neglected, molested by others, and then became an extreme rightwinger, embittered and searching for approval. A tragic figure.

Both he and his sister Maureen converted in 1954 when Jane Wyman did. Jane seemed to enjoy good adult relationships with both her children but they had some ups and downs. He did seem to appreciate her and she really never spoke of either of her children publicly. One of the last things I read him say about his parents was that he found correspondence from his father to Jane thanking her for donations to his presidential campaigns. She didn’t want to be referred to as Reagan’s ex wife but she told Davis Selby there was no animosity between her and Reagan.
