Over at https://www.facebook.com/Dallas-Television-Series-1978-filming-locations-338123143778839/ there have been several new-t0-me locations shared including the location of Section 4o (where Guzzler wanted to build) and where Bobby's kidnappers were shot. Looking forward to more! I was able to share a few locations I learned here.

This location played Pam's Port Aransas hotel in 04.14 and Clayton and Ellie's hotel in 10.19. It is the Marina del Rey Hotel located at 13534 Bali Way, Marina Del Rey, California.

I was able to share a few locations I learned here.

Good find, JM10. One of the first on that FB page is this one, across the street from Renaissance Tower. It's 221 N Field St where Cliff runs into Bobby and Jenna in OLD ACQUAINTANCE. The current picture is near the top of the stairs (lower left) with Renaissance Tower to the right, and ONE MAIN PLACE (Cliff's OLM office) on the other side of the stair opening.

I had an inquiry about 3 locations.

1. the scene where Pam finds out that Bobby has been shot. Pam says that she is in a hotel in San Antonio, TX-Killer at Large
2. The scene where Donna and Ray find out Bobby has been shot-Killer at Large
3. Where is exterior shot for Dalllas Memorial Hospital taped-Killer at Large

Gonna poke around too when I get a little time. Sounds interesting.

OK. Found Ray and Donna's location, as they're waiting for Edgar in Dallas a block away from the Ewing bldg.

This pic of the Ewing bldg, in Killer at Large, has shadows, also picked up in the 2nd pic.



Ray is seen, Donna hidden by gal in hat. The Ewing bldg is hard to define here visually due to shadows.


Current picture of the area shot with Ray and Donna above. This side of the Ewing bldg is seldom seen. The characters usually drive up to the bldg on the next street over, on Elm St.



The scene when Jackie talks to Pam, no idea where that is from this episode. She must've headed there toward the end of the previous season. But, there's probably an answer. Have to find the episode when she takes off.

Somewhere it was mentioned about hospital exteriors, and the Boy Scouts of America bldg in Irving was said to be used. I just don't remember where. But, here it is. It matches up with KILLER AT LARGE.

It's located at 1325 W Walnut Hill Ln, Irving, TX.



BSA bldg rear, used for Dallas Mem Hosp. You can see how the 2nd floor roof line juts out from the main part of the bldg, as seen in the above pic. I couldn't find any more rear entrance pics.

Pam, in Killer At Large, getting the news from Jackie about Bobby being shot. This looks much like the hotel where JR/Swellen & son stayed after the S/F fire, at a slightly different angle. I think this location is posted in the previous page as the Marriott in Addison, Beltline Rd at the Dallas North Tollway.

Also wondering where the scene was shot where Clayton and Miss Ellie meet at the restaurant in Galveston from the episode A Ewing is a Ewing, where the guy kicks up his leg every time he throws the frisbee. I'm thinking this may have been discussed, but don't see it on here.

Here is the establishing shot for the scene. With the cement wall by the beach walk, this could've been Galveston back in the mid 80's. I didn't find anything similar in CA. CA has beach walks, but they are far from the beach without cement walls. Hurricanes have changed the Galveston beach front.



Here is Clayton entering the inside of the restaurant. Note the steps to a less wide beach, and the hills/rocks that aren't found in Galveston. With Ellie you can also see the steps on the beach.



Here is Clayton sitting, with a pier to his rear-left, and the mountain in the background upper left.


Here is a pic at Malibu Beach.




This location was also used for Jory and Bobby's beach romp.

another interesting one to me - where was Holly Harwood's yacht? That was early in the season, so possibly Texas?

that's in episode 3 of the 'fight for Ewing Oil' season, dvd 6. I think there's an overhead view later in the season. I love how JR does a quick turn to check out the bikini woman's er, posterior, as he's walking on the dock to Holly's boat, about a second or two after the second screenshot above - sooo in character.

Interesting question, MT. I've never looked. Maybe one of the others has. I would assume yes it was, as at that point much of the show was filmed in Dallas. I'll have to watch this scene again for location clues.

Was filmed in Lancaster CA.

It was probably in California, as the pool scenes in that important episode were on the LA soundstage.

Whatever the location, Bobby’s decision to use composition tiles instead of shingles was a wise one!

The location of the construction site was in Lancaster,CA.
