It's not very often that Martina makes the news, but such is the case the last few days with her dropping out of the Trump-endorsed Freedom 250 event with characteristic class:

At this rate of artists dropping out of his propaganda event, Trump will have to do the signing himself.

I've always been a country music fan, and I grew up listening to Martina's music in the 90s. I still love many of her songs, especially from the early to late 90s.

And when it comes to Trump, it's no surprise that what's supposed to be a celebration of America is being bastardized into a Trump worship fest. I'd want no part of that either.

However, her issue with it being a partisan event seemed odd since she performed for both Clinton and Obama. But I suppose that was different because she did so knowingly.

One half of Milli Vanilli is still attending, so at least there'll be someone to lip sync along to him.

I'm not clear about what artists were told for this new event but given he number of people who signed up and then dropped out - rather than outright refusing to begin with - I'm curious to know what was initially said to lure them in.
