This is Memorial day weekend in the United States

We honor all the men and women, and their loved ones, who made supreme sacrifices to defend the freedoms that we enjoy not only in the USA, but also across the world

We must never forget that Freedom isn't free.

Great American heroes like Jeremiah Denton, Michael P. Murphy, Edward A. Carter, Charity Adams Earley, the Tuskagee Airmen(332 Fighter Group and 99th Fighter Squadron, All Black contingents) and Noor Inayat Kahn(Indian-British) and Witold Pilecki(Poland) to name only a few. Their stories are incredible.

It's a public holiday in the UK too but for Whitsun (also known as Pentecost), rather than Memorial Day. So today we commemorate the gift of the Holy Spirit.
