I hadn't realised that Minneapolis had such a large Native American community and ICE are also rounding them up and detaining them. They have more right to be there than just about anyone, it's they who should be rounding up the ICE agents.

My name is Anndra - it’s the Scottish Gaelic version of Andrew. I’m also a guy not a woman.
Referring to male forum members as female is something he does regularly and deliberately because it thinks it will annoy us. It never works though and I just ignore it now when he does it to me. It just makes him come across as childish and unserious.

You may see it as a false equivalence, but I don't agree (I've already listed all the reasons why.)

What else can we do but agree to disagree? Neither of us is changing our minds anytime soon.
Yes, I believe you're right about that.
My point was that I found it fascinating two-liberal Americans (who detest Trump and trash him constantly) are being preached to by non-Americans about how American politics works, in or out of our borders --- as if we're two rightwingers who buy into his bush!t.

For one thing, I said, "It's funny, isn't it, that two liberal Americans -- both of whom detest Trump -- somehow have no understanding of how our own government works" and "And the devastating effect our government has on countries around the world regardless of who's in the White House."
So the two Americans are you and @Frank Underwood ? I thought you meant me and @Angela Channing . Forgive me if I didn't realise that you were speaking of yourself in the third person.

I see. So the 3.1 million ICE deportations that occurred between 2009 and 2017 were fair and above board, as were the cages that were built in 2014. Good to know.
For those that say "it's not just about who deported more," the ACLU revealed in 2014 that only one quarter of all people facing expulsion got to present their case before an immigration judge. In contrast, the 75% facing non-judicial removals went through fast-tracked proceedings controlled by the Department of Homeland Security. Those proceedings often involved a single border agent who acted as both judge and jury. Those facing nonjudicial removal had no lawyer and no chance to appeal. Source: ACLU

Contrary to what some think, pointing that out is not an attempt to "derail real concerns" when it comes to ICE's fascist tactics today. Rather, its's a counter narrative to those who insists that Trump's predecessors aren't that bad or that Obama simply "deported more people." Politico also ran an article in 2016 stating the administration engaged in family deportation raids, so there's cruelty to go around. And as I said before, there's still all of their war crimes to account for even if you put the immigration issue aside.

Nobody's annoyed when Trump's criticized. Snarky and I have made many of the same criticisms of him ourselves. The annoyance is at the revisionist view of other politicians.
