Isn't it funny how Gary went from, "Abby, I love you, but I'm not stupid enough to trust you," to, "Why is everyone so hard on Abby?"... and now he's back to realising that maybe Abby isn't quite as transparent as she claims. Gary, Gary, Gary. Thank the Lord Joshua is dead. What a f***ing monster. I was actually proud of Lilimae on the rooftop, she finally told some hard home truths. Then, straight afterwards, she's covering everything up and pretending Joshua was just a lost little boy. And to absolutely betray Cathy by telling everyone Cathy was about to take Joshua back, completely taking Cathy's agency away, was just so selfishly awful. There are several characters on this show who desperately need a therapist, and Lilimae is definitely one of them. (I'm hard on the characters but the writing and acting is great, to be able to stir up so much feeling is talent). Knots does a really good job of stretching plotlines out and developing them into evolved versions of themselves. This Empire Valley storyline started last season, but is now in a different form, and I was actually mildly surprised to see it continue rather than be quietly shuffled off as a season 6 plot that wasn't returning for season 7.
