You forgot to find an explanation for Mom and Two & a Half men. And for Game Of Thrones characters.

Can answer for the other two, but in Mom at least the mentions of Christy were either used as 1) Plot Point (ie Bonnie finding out that there was still a huge billboard up from Christy's stripper days and Bonnie trying to be a good mother by getting rid of it was the entire episode) or 2) Off the cuff joke. Beyond explaining that Christy disappeared to go to law school all mentions either served as a plot point or off the cuff joke, not as an update on the character itself.

The point is - how often do you hear about a departed character on a show that just doesn't serve any purpose? As a plot point moving forward, or to re-introduce the character to the audience, or just as a cheap joke? You're basically saying they should just mention Steven.... just because?

I know that English is not my natural language, but what do people not understand in "mentioning" a character ????
I'm fucking not talking about having an update on Steven... I'm talking about characters saying that they miss their son, or sibling.
In GOT when the characters mention loved ones who are gone, it's not to get an update on a character. Spoilers : When Arya tells how she misses her father, there is no update on Ned. He's fucking dead.

When characters on OG Dallas mentioned Miss Ellie is wasn't to reintroduce her. It was not for a joke, it served no purpose but to show to viewers that she's still in the others characters heart and thoughts. When Jock died, was he literally erased like Amanda in Dynasty or Steven in Nu Dynasty?

Perhaps in reality but for soaps the drama associated with a wedding is its bread and butter.

Yes, drama. But mentioning people who don't attend a wedding isn't drama. It's small talk. Common in daily soaps but not in weekly dramas if there is no follow-up to a story.

I'm not sure if i'd really want Steven back, as they'd probably recast him with just some actor. I don't know.

The show didn't use Steven as they could have and they have that in common with the original which made him sadly the most boring character after Al Corley left. But if he transitions into a woman played by Rebecca Romijn as in Ugly Betty where Alan Dale was her father I'm in.

Will we eventually get to know Steven's fate... well maybe. Who's in the coffin after all?

He's still in the asylum and trusts his guts that his fans get him back. / Cecil Colby: most dispensable or Joseph Anders: most likely to land the next acting gig.

And since that bothers you so much we've only tried to explain why that is not happening in Dynasty.
It's not necessarily because we feel he shouldn't be mentioned.
I guess it boils down to the choice between disappointment (ignoring Steven) and frustration (mentioning Steven and inadvertently create an anticipation that cannot be fulfilled).
It's a rotten choice but there's nothing that we can do about it.

Actually that's a good reason to bring Steven back, in the disguise of "Sean Rowan". And by NuDynasty standards that means a fake nose and a wig.

Except you're inadvertingly pointing out the problem here - Steven isn't dead. Steven's fate isn't final. Plus, when Arya points out that she misses her father it is a plot point in the sense that it's meant to give us her motivation to carry on. It serves a purpose within the writing.

IE Fallon saying that she misses Steven indicates that she might end up searching for him. Why? Because Steven isn't dead, so why wouldn't she reach out to him if she misses him? It's a Catch 22.
