That means the world to me @Angela Christmas - thank you so much for saying that as it wasn’t easy to post but I wanted to be honest. Hearing that someone is proud of me after the worst time is just the best thing for me to hear. Thank you my friend. I will most certainly give Minnie a hug from you and sprinkle some pixie dust that you find the inspiration to run that Disney marathon. Maybe if I can get fitter I can do it with you. You’re a good friend xxx

Hi @Sarah, I have a few more questions for you today:
  1. Outside of your family and the Dallas cast, who is the most fascinating person you’ve met?
  2. What’s your favourite alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink?
  3. If you could give everyone just one piece of advice, what would it be?

Thanks @Pammy's Christmas Cracker !

Apart from the wonderful Ms Gray and Mr Hagman, which secondary Dallas character(s) do you respect and have time for?

Yes I do love Linda very much and am lucky to have a special rapport with her which has grown through the years. As you say she is a wonderful lady, kind, gracious and so beautiful - and very very funny.

Her and Larry are just my dream couple. Like when I die I will hopefully get to Heaven, spend some time with the family, then skipping off - my Mum said she’d know where to find me if I got lost!

Aside from Linda and Larry wow... who would I be most fond of and have most respect for?

She isn’t a secondary character, but it would have to be the great Barbara Bel Geddes. I’d have loved the opportunity to chat to her about her theatre background and she seemed really down to Earth and great fun. From the pictures I’ve seen and the video footage of her carrying on on set, she reminds me of one of the great theatrical thespians I’ve mentioned above - like I imagine when she walked in the room people would shut up. She wants tea? You get her tea! Not that I believe she was in any way demanding, just an example of theatre from my own experience. Next to Sue Ellen and JR, Miss Ellie is my favourite, although I have a soft spot for Bobby and Cliff.

I do respect all of the Dallas cast for their individual input, but
let’s see, if it is a secondary character, it would be wee George O'Petrie (Harv Smithfield). I love that man. He doesn't have to do very much, but I'm in absolute awe of him. It really is hard to pick just one though, as there are so many of the supporting cast that I love, like John Ross and Christopher. And - shock, horror! - I love Fern Fitzgerald who for those of you who don't know, I met in an airport toilet in Ohio in 2006. Here's me following Marilee Stone around the loo until she's finished and then pouncing on her while she washes her hands. If she'd been mean, I was just going to call her a tramp and leave, but she was so nice and giving of her time - and yes I did tell her off for sleeping with JR!

If Miss Principal did more of the Dallas get togethers would you be first in line to interview her? I would be on the first plane out!?

No, I wouldn't be first (think you'd beat me to it!), but it would be nice to meet her. I do respect all the work she does for the environment and for animals especially, being such a huge animal lover myself. I admit I am curious about some things and would like questions to be asked - so you can do that!

What is your favourite other TV/Film that the wonderful Ms Gray has been in?

I love 'Not In Front of The Children' as it was the first film I saw Linda in outside of Dallas. However I would urge everyone to watch her in 'Wally's Will' which I was lucky to see in Dallas and also 'Expecting Mary'. Both really showcase her acting talent. On stage as you know I've seen her in everything UK based from The Graduate to Cinderella. My one regret is that before the internet age, she and Larry appeared together in Love Letters in Hungary. I wouldn't have cared that I was only 14. Fek permission! I'd have been away! Loose in Eastern Europe!

Thanks so much @Pammy's Christmas Cracker !

Great read of your replies @Sarah - yes I would have beat you to Miss P, but you would beat me to Miss G, lol :) Thanks for your lovely reply.

Thanks @Angela Christmas dear friend!

Outside of your family and the Dallas cast, who is the most fascinating person you’ve met?

Great question! I've met a lot of really fascinating people but outside of my family and Dallas cast I'd have to say my friend Margaret. She was my teacher in high school and we always had a special bond. When I left school, and went away to college we kept in touch and have stayed in touch ever since. She and her husband are very kind to me and have stepped in on a few occasions in the absence of my parents when I've been ill (one very scary time when I was in hospital) and just when I've needed some more mature advice. She is a real role model, worked her way up from being a language teacher to the head of a department and she completed her Masters a while ago as well. She is very well travelled, articulate, funny and so intelligent. How she has lived her life just inspires and intrigues me. She and her husband used to do crazy things like day trips to Yugoslavia and stuff like that.

What’s your favourite alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink?

I am a wine girl. Anything else makes me sick. I'm probably one of the few that actually doesn't like cocktails or spirits. I remember a friend having some sort of Apple cocktail and I nearly hurled. And then a Strawberry Daquari was so cold I had to give it away because it hurt my teeth!!! Give me a Sauvignon Blanc and I'm yours. Only white wine, never red. Non alcoholic would be Sprite or 7 up. I used to be a Coke girl, but can no longer stomach it, which is odd because as a child it would make me vomit. Then I switched to Diet Coke but would only ever have it now very rarely. I find Coke too heavy and have no idea how I used to drink it all the time.

If you could give everyone just one piece of advice, what would it be?

To never go to bed on an argument, with anyone should it be your parents, sibling, friend, lover whatever. Life can literally change in a heartbeat.

Thanks again for all the great questions @Angela Christmas :spinning:

Hey @Mistletoe Stevens - thank you!

Since it's New Year's Eve, do you have any New Year's resolutions? Any goals for 2021?

I'd like to be fitter - I see these people out running at 6am and want to know why I don't have the motivation to do that! I don't know about running necessarily but I would like to walk and swim more - they are the two things I enjoy exercise wise. I'd also like to eat a healthier diet and get back on track with my mental health. I have been through a very difficult few years and am hoping to find the tools to manage my anxiety a lot more. And I'd like to write more and achieve some more of my acting goals.

Thanks so much!

Thanks @Falcon Crest I - really appreciate the good wishes.

If you could have acted in your much loved Dallas back in the day, who would your character have been? Sue Ellen's cousin??. I would imagine you would've been in your element.

Although Linda is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy ahead of me in the beauty stakes, I always imagined that Patricia Shepard had this daughter that she gave away at birth, that Sue Ellen didn't know about. This girl was a brat, who grew up in New York, but then finds Sue Ellen later in her life. She adores her (obviously) and threatens to make JR's life hell if he hurts her again. Kinda like Little Orphan Annie coming to The Ranch. She and Sue Ellen develop this unbreakable bond. Of course the brat is played by ME. :danc::spinning:

Hello Sarah! Happy New Year / Happy New Decade! Since you are the greatest fan of Sue Ellen my question to you, is about the much troubled yet attractive and eventually strong character.

Some years ago Linda Gray commented: "Sue Ellen was one of the most interesting characters in the 1980s. She was the original Desperate Housewife. She led the way for all those girls."

With this in mind what was your favourite storyline, for Sue Ellen in CBS / Lorimar DALLAS?

- The paternity of John Ross.
- Romancing J.R.'s main nemesis Cliff.
- Falling off the wagon (which happened many times).
- Her relationship with rodeo fanatic Dusty Farlow.
- Living in Clayton's Southern Cross ranch for a while, with John Ross.
- The retreat with Pam, to Hong Kong.
- The man child Peter Richard's 'ding a ling fling'.
- Going into business with Oswald Valentine in a lingerie company and the Sue Ellen vs. Mandy spats.
- Out witting J.R. when he tried to get the ultimate position, in West Star.
- Getting involved with a Mafia kingpin's son i.e. Nicholas Pearce / Joey Lombardi.
- Her final season production of the big screen film; about the life and times of the Ewings, principally J.R.

Happy New Year @Sarah. Thanks fore answering my questions so far, I have a few final questions for you today:
  1. What skill or ability have you always wanted to learn?
  2. What wrong assumptions do people make about you?
  3. What’s expensive but totally worth it?
  4. What do you like but are kind of embarrassed to admit?

Thanks @Frosty Lashes !

Happy new year Sarah, :D - same to you!

Its interesting reading about your career and I wondered ...

Have you ever been in a Pantomime?

Yes, several. I started acting when I was 7, as a fairy in Sleeping Beauty and over the years have appeared in others such as 'Cinderella' (not the one Linda was in sadly!), Babes in the Wood, Aladdin, Mother Goose, The Snow Queen, Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks. Pantos are the best fun but they are also extremely hard work, especially if you are touring, which I did for some of them. 2 and sometimes more shows a day, singing, dancing, and having to throw your voice over a LOT of unruly children. Wouldn't change the experience though. Had some of the best times of my life and met some of my best friends through the shows.

Or in a radio drama ?

Yes, and hoping to do more soon. I was lucky enough to be a semi finalist as well in a BBC award scheme and if I had won, would have got a part in The Archers. Dammit Ellie!

I can see how you enjoy writing fanfics, have you ever considered writing a Play or book?

All the time. I really really want to write a book based on my own experiences and some of the hilarious as well of tragic things that have happened to me over the course of the past couple of years especially.

Thank you so much for the questions!

Happy New Year to you too @Angela Christmas !

What skill or ability have you always wanted to learn?

The piano. I'd love to be able to play.

What wrong assumptions do people make about you?

Unfortunately I've had some cruel assumptions made about me because I am very honest, sometimes to the point of having no filter, and don't always say what people want to hear. And because I'm very sensitive too, I've had people assume and call me 'mental' and 'a loon', neither of which I am, simply becuase I have the guts to speak out, especially when I know something is really wrong, and because I feel passionately about certain things. It can be a blessing and a curse to have such empathetic tendencies (which I've also been told I am, and I don't think that one is wrong). Sometimes I just know stuff and can't explain why.

What’s expensive but totally worth it?

My cats. They aren't that expensive, maybe over the years but I'd do anything for them. Oh and travel. Travelling to Dallas events and to Disney. TOTALLY worth it.

What do you like but are kind of embarrassed to admit?

I'm honestly not embarrassed about anything. Not easily embarrassed at all. If I like something I will say it, and won't shy away from it if I am asked.

Thank you again for all the great questions!

Hi @Emelee thank you for the great questions!

What was your favourite tv show when you were a kid?

Dallas. I was a toddler when Dallas started, and although some people don't believe it, I have the proof of my fandom in some of my earliest collections. My Mum and Granny would cut things out from the papers for me and I developed my life long hobby of keeping scrapbooks. I have articles from the beginning of the 80's thanks to them, and made my first Dallas scrapbook at the age of 5. It's still in my Dallas archives, signed Sarah aged 5 and 3/4! My lovely Mum introduced me to the show and my first memory is the Southfork fire and crying because Sue Ellen was inside. OK I admit it, in one of my books I couldn't spell her name and horrifically it is spelt Suellen (@Rove ! ) My primary school teachers would ask me about the show and I remember my Primary 3 teacher, Miss Reid, being a big fan too. I liked the Muppets as well (not to the same extent obviously) and loved Miss Piggy @Toni !

What do you prefer to listen to on the radio?

I love documentaries and chat shows. I listen to music in the car but prefer my own collection which I've saved, as I hate it when DJ's interrupt. My favourite stations are Radio Ulster (local) and Radio 2. On Radio Ulster my favourite show is The Stephen Nolan Show and I love Radio 2 for the chats and some of the pop and musical (theatre) shows they have on. I also find classical music very soothing and my cats like it!

3. Do you like listening to audiobooks?

Not really. I tried it for a while, but I think you have to find the perfect voice to go along with it. I'd much rather just read a book myself. (Unless it's Linda Gray's audiobook of course, which is like my bible and I can flick through the chapters to hear her advice and experience on certain things. Plus it's her own voice, which is like well, bliss to me).

4. Which room is the nicest looking in your home?

My living room. I'm quite bohemian and being an actress, you'll never find any of this shiny- ornate- can't- touch- anything -stuff in my house. My favourite colour is red, so one wall is a splash of that and the rest is neutral. Some black and white throws and some other funky colours, mostly matching but some a mismatch. There are three of us in my house and my felines have to be comfortable too! I love going home especially in the winter and lighting candles, fairy lights and relaxing on the sofa which I lie on facing the tv. I have some nice artwork from America and Paris (nothing expensive!) and it's a nod to my own personality and taste. There's a road sign on the wall telling you the exact amount of miles from my house to Southfork Ranch (4422!)

Thank you so much @Emelee ! :hy:

I hate to point out the obvious but considering that you are young enough to be Sue Ellen's daughter the only way you could possibly have played her sister is if you had the same father - not mother! ;)

Still for a fanfic idea it would totally work that Patricia had given up a child at birth and years later Sue Ellen's sister sought her out. We really didn't know much about her family on the show. They could have explored it more.

Also some more questions for you:

1) What's the best concert you've ever attended?
2) What's the name of your cats?
3) Any plans to get another dog?
4) Tough Choice: James or Cally's baby?

Finally I want to wish you a Happy New Year my friend! :09:

Thanks @Karin Schill - and yes pointing out the obvious again! Let me have my fantasies!! Please!! :yo:

What's the best concert you've ever attended?

Oh good one! It would have to be a choice between Michael Bolton, Tom Jonesand my beloved Five Star! I saw Madonna but wasn’t that impressed with her attitude or singing! She left us in the pouring rain in Dublin for over an hour - she was so late! My regret is I didn’t get to see Whitney Houston or Michael Jackson.

2) What's the name of your cats?

Oliver and Miss Ellie. Miss Ellie was born the same year BBG passed away.

3) Any plans to get another dog?
We still have wee JR. I miss Dallas so much and have no plans to get another dog yet. She was my buddy. I really miss my walks with her and I don’t think it’s sunk it yet that’s she’s not here.

4) Tough Choice: James or Cally's baby?

You mean choose between James and the baby? The baby easily. Nothing will ever convince me that either spawn are JR’s but give me a baby any day over aul licky lips! (Great question though!)

Thanks @Karin Schill and Happy New Year!!

@Sarah, I have one final, final question.

Back in the distant past on the Ultimate Dallas website, didn't you used to write a section called Sue Ellen's Diary? What happened to it and do you ever have any plans to revive it?
