And then there's the island of Skorpios, the one with the Greek tycoon and his wife, that wretchedly unhappy woman.
Sky Crest dude ranch, in its brief appearance in the second season finale, appears to me as a vastly more interesting property than the Delta Rho farm introduced in season five. Perhaps the Daniel Reece character (not necessarily played by the ailing Rock Hudson) could have been the new owner of Sky Crest instead of Delta Rho, an additional reason for Blake to dislike him.
Season 2 production values successfully depict the ranch as a sprawling, breathtaking property brimming with activity — abundant extras playing the mountain resort staff and the guests, long stables with horses, cottages and even a busy swimming pool in Krystle's background.
Sadly, season 3 places Krystle into a Ranger's HQ cottage for her sedate opening scene and later in what might or might not be her own cottage at Sky Crest. But, Sky Crest as we had seen it in 2x22 is nowhere to be seen again. I wish we had actually seen Blake and Krystle enjoying a cup of that hot buttered rum he was talking about in an impressive hotel lounge with high windows and a crackling fireplace, right after their ordeal.
By the way, I noticed there is also a River Stone trail crossing the Scorpio Peek trail that Blake ended up on. Such details only add to the realism of it.

-----------I do have to note, while watching the scenes from 2x22 and 3x01 today I could really see it. Whatever happened behind the scenes in the summer of 1982, it's there the second Krystle opens her mouth in the season opener — she sounds so stilted and fake. She's not even looking at the ranger when she talks to him.
Whereas only in 2x22, in her leisurely scenes at the ranch with Blake and later asking Toscanni, with worry in her voice, if he'd managed to find Blake — she's so natural and believable.
Sort of, but not one called that.
More like "Helen". Sounds so benign, doesn't it?

What a lovely picturesque place!
We call it "going to Helen back".
It looks like a huge mini-country in Epcot Center.

There's this woman on YouTube, Marina Coates, who does 3D renderings of houses and apartments from TV shows and movies. I've already seriously considered having her make a model of my own version of the MacKenzie house in my "Peyton Place" remake. Maybe you should consider getting her to create a model of this map of yours'?It would have been nice to have had them mention locations like Scorpio Peak more than once. One problem with DYNASTY is that it mostly lacked a sense of place --- and that's not just because they almost never filmed on location as the other '80s wealth-based nighttime soaps did. A lot of it had to do with references (or lack thereof). And a lack of a cohesive "center" for the show. (Unlike Southfork and "Braddock" for DALLAS, and the early seasons of FALCON CREST).
How many times did DYNASTY mention "The Village" after Season 3? Was that the same hamlet as "Harmon Springs" (which I don't think was named until Season 7 -- correct me if I'm wrong)?
I have this alternative DYNAST-ic reality where Blake finally acquires Scorpio Peak, which he's been after for thirty years, which stands just to the west of the mansion. This leads to Blake's and Alexis' deal, two-thirds of the way through Season 6, to create a nature sanctuary (to quell the concerns of the environmentalists over Alexis' excessive parfum utilization that's polluting Colorado's air west of Denver).
And there's shabby, rural Scorpio Cemetery, discretely nestled at the north-western foothills of the mountain, where Roger Grimes' body is eventually interred during Phantom Season 10.
