Revamped Crucible to host World Snooker Championship until 2045

The World Snooker Championship will remain at the Crucible in Sheffield until 2045, with the venue set to be refurbished to add up to 500 additional seats.

Here we go then - qualifying over and the main draw done this morning for the sixteen matches in the first round that kicks off on Saturday at 10am as is tradition with the defending champion Zhao Xintong playing to a finish on Saturday evening against the lowest ranked qualifier Liam Highfield. Some absolute corkers elsewhere though including John Higgins v Ali Carter, Mark Selby v Jak Jones and Gary Wilson v Judd Trump. Tough draws for the four debutants though.
