Spotted: KL Actors in Other Roles

Yes – and the interesting thing is that he's relatively unknown here (and in the rest of Europe, too). Whenever a report about Lisa Hartman appeared in the newspapers, he was simply referred to as her "husband." Often misspelled or referred to as "Phil" instead of "Clint." He was frequently referred to merely as "a country singer."
Regarding Lisa Hartman's voice, I have to disagree with you. I think her voice is uniquely good. Her wide range and volume are especially noticeable on her first solo album. Unfortunately, her songs were poorly marketed in the US. Her last solo album is considered a cult album of sorts among fans of "female-fronted rock." She even features on a CD by the legendary "Munich City Nights."
I don't particularly like Clint Black's voice. He sounds more like "Kermit the Frog" than a good country singer. He sounds very nasal.

Yeah, I guess Baritone is an acquired taste...lol. But then, musical preference is all subjective anyway...lol. Her only musical hit in the US was a duet with her husband, "When I said I Do," a very popular wedding song here still.

A long-running show like Knots Landing will usually have a long list of guest players. If they're lucky, they might end up taking a one-shot guest performance and turn it into something more, like a recurring player. Others might appear once or twice in a pivotal role, but their performance is so memorable that they may make a mark much larger than actors who appeared more often.

This afternoon I was watching two, back-to-back episodes of the sitcom Benson on FamilyNet, a cable channel that airs a lot of classic sitcoms. In the first, Laurence Haddon (infamous as Val's evil Dr. Ackerman) played an undercover officer trying to weed out corruption in their fictional state. Seeing him in this reminded me that he was a frequent guest star on many shows (even Dallas). Seeing him play comedy was an interesting switch, since Dr. Ackerman was one of the most humorless characters ever on KL. But in the very next episode, Benson has a lobbyist girlfriend played by Saundra Sharp, who played Dr. Ackerman's accomplice, Nurse Wilson on KL.
Oddly, the two actors did these guest spots back-to-back in 1981, several years before they worked together on Knots.

Rather than generate a thread just to share this entertaining coincidence (and give this thread the title "Before they Were Baby-Snatching Felons"), I thought others might share some of their experiences spotting KL actors in other roles, especially the supporting/featured actors who likely only thought of their Knots roles as one in a long line of performances.

I'm watching Kojak season 2 on Prime and of course our beloved Kevin Dobson is Crocker, but Richard Avery just popped up as an Intern at a hospital of course giving info on a patient to the bad guys. I think it's his voice that made his always a negative character. Dobson, on the other hand, had an innate sincerity that really came across...

This was pretty cool: Watching Kojak on Prime, Season 3, Episode 3 with guest star Sylvester Stallone immediately pre-Rocky, and there's a scene with Kevin Dobson as Crocker and he gives Stallone's character a little punch in the arm like to say good luck - One of the few people who could say he landed a punch at Sly without retaliation. He was also at least an inch and a half taller than Sly - always surprised me how short Stallone is - he looks so big in in the ring as Rocky.

I even thought I spotted TB&TB's Sally Spectra but it's Shirley Stoler from THE HONEYMOON KILLERS.
