Stephanie Cole: Coronation Street and Doc Martin actress dies aged 84

She was best known for playing Dr Beatrice Mason in the 1980s BBC wartime TV drama Tenko.

A week ago tonight I was watching Stephanie on the big screen at a screening of Housewife, 49, where she was terrifyingly formidable and brilliantly funny ("We're supposed to be supplying the hospital with bandages - not victims").

She had some iconic comedy roles: blustery Diana Trent in Waiting For God and "the black widow" Mrs Featherstone in Open All Hours.

Tenko is still up there with her finest work, of course.

And once again I'm looking at a familiar face that I can't connect with the actor's filmography. I must have seen her in an Inside No. 9 episode, but that was made 40 years after Tenko.
Is it possible that I'm confusing her with an actress from Australia or New Zealand?
