I hadn't seen this since it first aired in 1989 and it's just as powerful as it was then, with the added fascination of now being an unintentional period piece. Brilliant cast largely known for their sitcom work, here placed in a very different setting. Written by Tony Marchant who went to create the equally memorable Goodbye Cruel World, which gave Sue Johnston her first major post-Sheila TV role.
