I thought it was clever that they tried to get around the annual "but you left him out!!" criticisms of the 'In Memoriam" segment by leaving out almost all actors altogether, focusing instead on editors, casting agents, publicists.

I thought it was clever for The Oscars to leave so much out the show itself became a yawn fest. Now typically I only watch the nightly NEWS to find out who won etc, instead I found myself curled up on the lounge watching this live while dealing with a serious migraine. Is it any wonder the Oscars is becoming irrelevant to the broader population. These awards is meant to be the cream on the top for the film industry and I expect the "A" team to be on parade. Whether actors are up for awards or not the top actors should be invited. The impression I was left with was the A-Lister's had politely declined their invitations and instead curled up on the lounge, like me.

And once again I found the prima donna's couldn't help themselves and had their little digs at the current President of The United States. Here is a thought Oscars. Tell these well paid presenters to not use the Oscars as a platform to once again beat up on the President or the broader community because it's our fault we've screwed up the environment. I'm sick of hearing actors, earning zillions of dollars per movie, zipping around the planet attending premiers and chatting on talk shows, all the while belting us over the head about climate change.

I thought they included loads of actors including Burt Reynolds, Albert Finney and Margot Kidder. I can think of a few actors who were omitted but they were primarily TV actors and did not have a significant Hollywood film career.

Not having a host significantly cut down on the running time but there was no really memorable moments during the show which might have happened had there been a host.

I thought there was a heavy focus on current and younger Hollywood actors and few veteran actors took part. The closest they came to featuring a major actor from the past was when Barbara Streisand made an appearance.

I'm glad Green Book won Best Picture as it was my favourite of all the films nominated and I found the Roma, which was expected to win, to be very underwhelming.
