I wouldn't mind too much if the Carrington Offices had a sleek modern look however the Carrington mansion should be traditional. This is where their extravagant lifestyle should be on full display. Manicured lawns and gardens. Upon entering the residence we should see a draw-dropping staircase. The ground floor mansion should have high ceilings, large reception rooms, Ming's (don't forget the Ming's). China cabinets filled with family trinkets. Long hall-ways with house staff going about their duties. I want to watch something that is unattainable for most viewers. I want to feel a sense of "how the other half live."
That's an excellent way of putting it all!

Yes, the offices should look sleek and modern (with the possible exception of Clint's office; that should look modern, but I think it'd be fun if it had touches of how the offices on MAD MEN looked; not a whole lot, just a similarity), but the mansion needs to look like Fairy Tale Land, so to speak. lol
Actually, one basis I'd use would be from an anime of all things:
The trick with Dynasty 2.0 will be the characters themselves. I have to feel connected to them. They may have a self sense of superiority over others but just because their super wealthy doesn't mean they can be rude - otherwise I'll switch off.
Fallon wouldn't be Fallon, if she wasn't rude, with a tongue like a buggy whip.
You both raise good points. Though Fallon wasn't exactly rude - at least, not in a general sense. She was rude to Krystle, but she had a reason: she believed her new stepmother was a gold-digger. She was rude to Alexis, but Alexis abandoned her for 16 years. And she was rude to Jeff, but she didn't like him anyway. But when it came to everybody else, Fallon wasn't rude. She loved her father and brother, and she was charming to all the men she bedded. She was a little dismissive towards Sammy Jo, but I don't recall her being rude to her. In fact, she did put an effort into being friendly towards her once she, SJ, married Steven - and we know how THAT worked out. ^^
As for Blake and Steven, neither of them were rude. They could be pleasant in their own ways, particularly Steven: he was Krystle's first friend in the mansion. In fact, it was the staff who were rude to her, but even they got put in their place pretty quickly and began treating her better - except for Joseph, who still had his moments, but even he ended up behaving towards her in a pleasant manner (or at least, as pleasant as Joseph could possibly be, heh heh).
So yeah, I don't think there's too much to worry about.
