I just watched it and it was brilliant, I'm so pleased I got to watch it without any spoilers, the ending had me gasping for more.
Thanks @JROG for posting this...I now have it on my DVR to record the pilot and I am really looking forward to it. It wasn't on my radar as one I wanted to watch but both you and Ome make it sound so good.
Another thing that is pulling me is that Sterling K. Brown stars in this and I just love him as an actor.

Episode 2
Lovely, lovely, lovely. Great seeing Katey Sagal again. Kate's thinking, process and feelings are so true and real. Just love with how much honesty and empathy her story is written.
Hartley is so great as Kevin. He really hits all the right notes. How heartbreaking that he and Randall have a complicated dynamic like that. It'll be fun to see that explored and, hopefully, resolved.
Mandy Moore was great in this episode. I haven't really seen enough of her work to know if she could pull this off, but she's doing really well.
DAMN. I didn't know Brown had that body underneath those clothes! And I love him, Beth and William.

I am so sorry I didn't see this or I would have responded right away.
I loved the first episode and have yet to watch the second. I think this might be the type of show that I will record and binge watch. I thinks it's an awesome start to what I hope turns out to be a great show.
I haven't had much time for TV lately......I miss that. So far I am only watching Grey's and Designated Survivor and now Shameless started a new season...I love that show!
Have you ever watched Army Wives @JROG Sterling K. Brown stars in that one too and he was one of my favorites on that show...your right he does look amazing with his shirt off....

I didn't know Brown was on ARMY WIVES. That show has been on my Netflix List forever. I really need to get around to it at some point, but I'm not sure if it's any good/how good it is.

Toby is simply wonderful, everything he does for Kate blows me over and i never want it to end.
William's story is so sad and I want to say the actor portraying the younger version is stealing the show but I can't so many of the actors are pulling this out of the bag. I fully understand where Kate was coming from when she asked William to stay away, I hope that doesn't come out and destroy her relationship with Randall.
My heart skilled a beat when Kevin opened his eyes at the same time Kate work up from a sleep.

Sterling K Brown is married to an Army officer so he is actually one of the Army Wives. I loved season's 1 thru 5. Then it started to go downhill in Season 6 and if I were you I wouldn't go near Season 7 it's really bad...I do think they thought they were going to be canceled after season 6 because the season finale made the perfect series finale.
