Didn’t the tabloids also report that Michael Jackson would guest on The Colbys as Dominique’s long lost son? Which was pretty farfetched, given that he was in the midst of his career peak when that show aired.
But he loved Dynasty and I know he was there to visit on set some times in the mid 80s. I just wonder how that would have worked storywise, i mean... Jackie just came around the corner as Doms long lost daughter, so MJ would have been her twin brother and also a son of Garrett? Jaw-dropping!

On the subject of Dynasty, I recall reading that Italian actress Ornella Muti and Delorean wife and future Home & Family host Cristina Ferrare were being looked at for the role of Amanda.

I know it’s been mentioned here before but when FOX announced Pacific Palisades, the role of Laura was being played by Baywatch star Erika Eleniak.

Having previously portrayed Vivien Leigh twice (in "Gable and Lombard" and "The Scarlett O'Hara War"), Morgan Brittany was rumored to be the new Scarlett O'Hara in the Scarlett miniseries.
Not only those but also "The Day of the Locust" where Morgan played Leigh again!

British actress Michelle Collins (probably best known as sinful Cindy Beale in EastEnders) was in talks for a part in Desperate Housewives around 2009. She spoke about it in a few interviews but nothing ever came of it.

Ray Parker, Jr. once said in an on-camera interview circa 1984 that he wanted to go on DALLAS "and be kissin' on Sue Ellen."

But that was never going to happen... Diahann Carroll said about the same time, when she was shopping herself around to the nighttime soaps, that "one of the producers" from one of the shows told her point blank that "no black person will ever be on _________".

She didn't get specific, but one can guess why Dora Mae never wanted to do an interview.

Imagine if Dynasty somehow got one of Princess Diana, Michael Jackson, or Madonna in a guest appearance.

Not Madonna she was a guest on The Graham Norton Show and was incredibly rude to actor Sir Ian McKellen who played Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit movies. I wasn't impressed with her at all, she's gotten very self obsessed and arrogant and I don't like those qualities in someone who's supposed to be a star. :(

Imagine if Dynasty somehow got one of Princess Diana, Michael Jackson, or Madonna in a guest appearance.

I have great ambitions for that mid-Season 7 black-and-white winter ball (which was unnecessarily drab) -- and I want to see some of those professional celebrity doubles make appearances (eg, "Jackie O" and "JFK Jr" and "Princess Diana" and "Madonna" and "Michael Jackson") all photographed just slightly out-of-focus so the dimmer viewers won't realize it's not really them.

In fact, I wanted a running joke in the last-half of DYNASTY where Alexis in the foyer at an opening, or an opera, and the camera pans back and a Jackie Onassis' double in sunglasses is standing beside her. Alexis makes a familiar quip, and "Jackie O" rolls her eyes (if you could see them) and walks off in a silent huff... That should start in late-Season 6 and happen every year or so --- until the series ends, or until Mrs. Onassis' representatives call the producers and politely ask them to stop (which my guess is that would happen first).

I also would like to see the Reagans, hams until the end, making an appearance on DYNASTY --- shot in the White House about two-thirds of the way through Season 8, during the gubernatorial campaign. God knows the Reagans would want to do it, especially given the Iran-Contra scandal was winding down and the First Couple could use the good publicity (but would their handlers nix the idea, or encourage it??) Blake and the president discuss energy policy in the Oval Office, Krystle and Nancy wander through that hall of portraits where the first lady teases Mrs. Carrington gently about being a Democrat, and both Ronnie and Nancy navigate a questionable business offer from Alexis on the Truman balcony which leads Reagan to call the Justice Department on her (to prove he's incorruptible -- *wink-wink*).

But DYNASTY rarely had the sense of humor to even think of things like that.

I once read that Diana stole Kimberly Foster's haircut, but that's not all she wanted: she wanted to take over Kimberly's role as Michelle. If this would have given Dallas a 15th season, so why not?
Well Dallas was a fashion trend setter in its day.

Princess Diana as Michelle, that would've been interesting casting. She was probably only joking when she said that. :)

Pamela Sue and Victoria actually don't look too unalike in those pictures, and yes, the fact that she had recently made that telemovie with Patrick Duffy did lend credence to the idea.

Could be sistahs!

Not only were they both dunked into a lake in their pilot episodes, they exited their respective series by crashing their cars into a huge truck!

Both named Pamela!!

I just can’t picture Diana as Michelle but there’s a part of me that can envision her playing the Kay Lloyd character a little earlier on. I can see her rockin the hat and doin the Texas two step.
