Thank you for voting for a government that puts private profit about environmental safety. Voting for them to privatise water companies has lead to these companies to pour raw sewage out into our seas and onto our beaches because it's a cheaper solution than dealing with the problem. I hope you are all proud of your vote next time a child swims in a sea of turds.

Thank you for voting for a government that has prioritised tax cuts for the richest people in society while they have starved the NHS of resources. Your vote caused the deterioration in the ambulance service which was highlighted this week when an 87 year old man who fell at his home had to wait over 15 hours for an ambulance while lying outside on the concrete ground. The 999 call handlers told his family he shouldn't be moved forcing them to build a makeshift shelter around him for his protection while they waited for an ambulance. I hope Tory voters are proud of themselves for voting for this situation to occur.

The Tory policy of the privatization of rail, water, refuse collection and the like was for the greater good. The public purse is no longer or to lesser extent propping up sectors and services that were run in a nonchalant fashion hemorrhaging money because they were luddites and refused to understand that the everything had moved on and outdated practices, attitudes needed to be dragged into the common era and expectations of service delivery by the end consumer were not being satisfied. With the privatization of once nationalized entities means that now shareholders, individuals hedge funds bank or whoever expect dividends, so the business needs to be well run, streamlined and deliver or at the AGM the board get their marching orders.

Raw sewage outlets in the sea is nothing new. Dinosaurs and mermaids and you have all shat on Flipper and Free Willie, children swim amongst whale, fish and Neptune's turds since time . Sewage is treated by water companies, I'd suggest the amount of foul waste outlet into the sea is insignificant compared the amount treated. There are probably reasons beyond our ken as to why this happens

Apocryphal fairytale. Late night candle light.

So the concerned and distraught loved ones of the 87 year old fellow that had a fall and one imagines is in some pain and or discomfort, didn't seek further advice, call a private ambulance at their expense, just use their own judgement and drive him to A&E or call their out their area's doctor that makes emergency home visits (Hants Doc where I live).

No, no,no NO! The oracles that were the product of our man's fruitful loin collectively decided to bob down Robert Dyers and buy 3 umbrellas, a plastic sheet and requisition a kid's football goal thing to provide our man, mature in years, a makeshift shelter over the concrete slab that was his enemy when gravity introduced him to it. 15 hours means that while the concerned linage watched Top Gear in the warmth of their dwelling place, while the man who walked Third Rock for 87 years lay twisted, in pain, on concrete, with only a trio of umbrellas to fend off the Nightstalker's, werewolves, pick pockets, opportunistic sodomites, bad hombres, and cold nighttime temperatures. One imagines that with no toilet he simply swamped out in his trousers... because he can't be moved! That the gold right there.

This story was concocted by powerful mind that was for real nailing late night candle light. I've called an ambulance 4 time in my tenure on 3rd Rock. The knock on then door was timed in minutes. 15 hours, I find incredulous but if by some chance it's true, it doesn't come close to reflecting the nature of the service.

Maria Miller is our Tory MP, I've been known to bung her an X on the ballot paper in the past. The hard working lady needs to keep bibbing her Range Rover, so gotta stay in office... right!:hl:

Not everyone can afford a private ambulance so that probably wasn't an option.

When a health care professional tells you not to move an injured person for fear of causing them further pain or damage, surely the best advice is to listen to the experts? As for calling a local GP, haven't you heard their is a GP shortage because of Tory cuts and anti immigration policy. That's another thing we can thank Tory voters for.

Blaming the family for managing the problem as best as they could rather than blaming those who caused the lack of resources in NHS services to treat the old guy is just wrong.

The "health care professional" answered the phone and followed a script. "Professional" doesn't mean someone has expertise backed up by book smarts. Professional means that the person is paid for the labours. A hooker is a professional. The gentleman now walking towards his setting sun of his life spent 15 hours on the concrete, under a toy goal and 3 haphazardly positioned umbrellas. And Rihanna nowhere in sight to serenade him while he lay there all mash up fearing that a passing bandit would force an unwanted surprise his way.

The people that rigged up the umbrellas collectively would struggle to attain the dizzy heights of a double digit IQ, or this nonsense thrown together by a of the health care professional that slings.

This family didn't manage anything, they expected someone else to turn up and do the business. That is the problem, people thinking that they are entitled to everything so doing f**k all is the default setting. This family shrugged their shoulders and thought "ah, no matter, leave the c*** laying there, ambulance be here tomorrow".

The problems with the NHS are not solely down to the Tory party. The seeds wear sow decades ago and have snowballed under Labour and Tory administrations. To address the funding issue, IVF should not be funded by the NHS, it's not a clinical need, putting right botched plastic surgery done elsewhere should not be funded by NHS, patching up violent drunks should be charged, women and girls that get drunk, get pregnant, and haven't got a fuuuuuuuuuucking clue who they chose to get knocked up with should not be a service offered by the NHS. Tattoo removal should not be funded by the NHS as so and so on.

Circling back... 15 hour ambulance? Light night candle light.

@Willie Oleson. This is what the disagree function was for. What a load of silly old f**king idiotic nonsense. I hope the poster is more offended by that than any dislike or disagree notification.
I work in health care and have seen elderly people, badly injured forced to lie on the floor for hours and hours waiting for an ambulance.

The Tories have been in power for the last 12 years so the current crisis is down to their cuts. The Tories have also been in power for 30 of the last 43 years (70% of that period) so long term problems is also mostly down to them and the people who voted for them not a worried family who tried to protect a vulnerable old man waiting for an ambulance.

15 hours?? Did they call the Flying Doctors?
Sadly it's not an isolated case. Only a few days ago a 90 year old woman was forced to wait 40 hours for an ambulance. This is what happens when the UK Conservative government prioritises tax cuts for the rich over adequately funding healthcare in our country.

This is what people who vote for the Conservative Party have to take responsibility for. This is what they wanted so I hope they are proud of what they did.

Let run with what you are saying about elderly people FORCED to lie on the floor for hours waiting for an ambulance all while their bad injuries are ignored is true.
The people laying on a floor with a missing tile for companion always got a slack sphincter and blamed every other person the "talked funny" and faux outrage spunked outrage in the local about whatever to bring a new tomorrow of low taxes and Jah will proved the ambulances, and there will be concubine next to every elderly, young, or middle-aged person laying next to a missing tile on a hospital floor.... waiting for Jah blues and twos and all the rest of magic.

The elderly person could go private, plan for their failing health in later years. Vote for a party that say they will raise taxes and cut benefits. The problem is that believe that they are entitled and bitch up when reality is not even close to their magicked up expectations Pay at point of use for medical services.... tell them that. .

I don't believe that anyone would leave the 87 year old gentleman laying on concrete outside for 15 hours. Makes no sense at all.

Did you treat the story? They were told by the NHS not to move him. They acted in his best interests. He was let down by the lack of ambulances caused by Tory cuts to fund tax cuts for the rich. Well done Britain, you voted to show what a selfish nation we are.

I could argue this is due to a poor opposition. Until they prove their worthiness it will remain that way.

I've reviewed my previous comment, and I'm super pleased that you went the extra mile to look up the meaning of gibberish, then copy and paste the meaning. A redundant but appreciated act.

C'mon I weaved some uber gold with that post. Jah, hoes, taxation, casting spells and pontifications of a "new tomorrow". Who rocks the spot? Biggie!

Looking at all the different variations we've had in the official opposition since 2010, I think ever one has been better than the government we ended up with. The current opposition under Keir Stamer is probably the worst one we've had but it's still far better than the chaotic, corrupt, dishonest and incompetent government we currently have.

They believed that leaving our man here in a mash up state on the concrete, soiling his trousers under umbrellas, no Rihanna, but plenty plenty plenty nighttime demons prowling looking to do badness ,unspeakable kinds of, was in his best interests....that's crackhead logic.

Now it make more sense if we factoring in his family's proclivities to hitting the pipe. They must have been hitting up jumbo rocks and forgot to call the ambulance, so pulled the 15 hour thing out of who knows. Or this whole thing is a fairytale.

This heroic woman who confronted the Tory Health Secretary today is absolutely right.

People who voted for this government to run down our NHS, I hope you are proud of what you have done.

The lady in question offered no practical solutions to the Health Secretary when the opportunity to advise the man in a position to implement change in the NHS was gifted to her. She said her piece, good for her. But I ask you, what does the lady know about the workings of government and how the branch of government tasked with running, funding and anticipating current and future needs and everything else that pertains to running the world third biggest bureaucracy (first being the Russian military followed by the Indian state owned railway as I understand it)? What does she know about NHS other than her experience and what she has gleaned from whichever news source she has bought into... and done.

The NHS deliver a service that has room for improvement, but a service that is somewhere between good and almost excellent. People's experiences are anecdotal and not empirical data.

What does she know about the workings of the NHS? At least as much, if not more than the people who voted for a Tory government that prioritises tax cuts for the rich over adequately funding healthcare. She knows there is a shortage of doctors, nurses and ambulance staff and how that impacts negatively on the NHS. The people who know nothing, or more accurately don't care, are those who voted for this government to run down the NHS. Isn't it interesting that Mr Barclay had no solution to offer her for the damage the Tories have done to the NHS.
