In the UK soap EastEnders Sam Mitchell was originally played by Daniella Westbrook then replaced by Kim Medcalf, then a few years later Daniella Westbrook was brought back to the role when Kim didn't want to return. Has any other actor returned to a role after a recast like this? I can only think of Al Corley/ Jack Coleman/Al Corley in Dynasty.

The only other one I can think of is Barbara Bel Geddes, Donna Reed and Barbara Bel Geddes again as Miss Ellie on Dallas.

On The Bold and the Beautiful, Jacob Young was the first adult performer in the role of Rick Forrester. He left in 1999, with the character receiving two recasts in subsequent years. In 2013, Young was eventually brought back as Rick for a couple of years.

Has any other actor returned to a role after a recast like this?

The previously mentioned Lecy Goranson returned to replace her successor Sarah Chalke as Becky on Rosanne, and continues to play the role on The Conners.
